Anyone have a link to a download of Doom II that will work on Windows 7 with no problem? I downloaded it earlier and it won't run. Sorry, I don't know jack shit about computer stuff.

If compatibility settings don't help, try DoxBox

I ended up getting it to work, thanks though! I've been fucking around with the Brutal Doom mod all night. It's INSANE.

It's called DosBox. Another alternative is GoG (Good Old Games), which are purchasable rejigged versions compatible with current-day PCs.

For Doom:
Go here and install the stuff
If you have Doom or Doom II installed then the game should configure to the .IWAD files.
To add Brutal Doom to it, go here and then install the file in the Zandronum folder and the BrutalVxx file should run the game from there.

About Doom: here's the most obscene and blasphemous mod even created for it: http://scoiattolichescopano.wix.com/grezzo2#!screenshots/c60z

It's in italian, so non italians will not understand very much, but pictures speaks for themselves... Twisted Evil

Honestly I just downloaded a bunch until one worked. Laughing I guess you can get it on Steam for $4.99 though and it works for newer operating systems. Be sure you get Brutal Doom! It's psychotic.

This might help you, too: http://youtu.be/9uwFcmah6GE

Yeah the Doom modding community is nuts, I've played so many fan made maps that were easily better than the actual games.

what were some of your favorite mods? Hoping theres ones i can still run the brutal doom mod with.

So many, but: Alien Vendetta, Scythe 2, Hell Revealed I and II, Memento Mori come to mind at the moment. AV and Scythe 2 are especially great!

really excited to have a mouse and a keyboard again. its pathetic but i haven't had the comfort of desktop style computing since i was about 15 or 16. Downloaded Fallout II because it only took a few minutes and i didn't have to install anything, but i really want to play diablo I. I don't think it works on macs though.

In highschool I had a PC and would fiddle with this game using dosbox or something.

It was really confusing and i never got anywhere, but the atmosphere was perfect because of me being some 15 year old dweeb who had just discovered burzum. (I didnt care about metal or black metal at that point though, was only interested in playing the game on mute to daudi baldrs)
