I have to agree with Retardo, Providence is Immolation's best release since Unholy Cult. Harnessing Ruin and Majesty and Decay aren't bad though. |

HiA pissed me off after the 5-year wait because it was so... different. Of course I grew to love it with time, but I still hold an irrational kind of resentment toward it. Still not sure if I like it or FfG more; depends on my mood I guess. I like CtaWB second after DoP, due to its haunting, haunting riffs.

Valid point, I must say.

Yer goddamned right!
I didn't mean to derail the thread, especially since they're easily one of my top 5 or so fave bands of all time.
All I know is I'm fucking stoked to hear the new one!!!!

Wasn't Harnessing Ruin sort of political at times? I seem to remember thinking that anyway. It's been a while since I read the lyrics, though. |

Majesty and Decay was a good album. It has some great songs, like In Human Form and A Glorious Epoch. |

Swarm of Terror-
Call us the Devil
But it's you who holds the darkest heart
Call the weak to arms
Savage words to your savage world
Abusing control... Menacing all
Call yourself the victim
But it's you who walks a vicious path
Call them to the mayhem
For you they'll lay down with the dead
Rabid conviction... uphold the threat
A swarm of terror
Across the land
Spreading sickness to curse the world
Punishing judgment
Will bring the end
Cast the nightmare to take down mankind
A swarm of terror
Across the land
Spreading sickness to curse the world |

I haven't taken to Majesty and Decay yet. To be fair I haven't spun it enough.
One thing for sure is I miss Alex Hernandez. The drumming is just too "tame". |

I agree although I thought Harnessing Ruin was a godawful piece of crap (with the exception of "Swarm of Terror"). I haven't even bothered with Majesty and Decay.
My only complaint with Providence was that the songs were a bit to "compact" instead of epic in the tradition of old Immolation. And the fucking drum triggers.... _________________

Last three albums have been not good. I may have had hopes for this one at one point... _________________

I'm always surprised when people praise Providence like it's some return to the old sound. Always see comments like "Wasn't a big fan of Majesty and Decay, but Providence was awesome". I don't get it. Providence might as well be leftover tracks from Majesty, they're very similar. |

So Dawn Of Possession, Here In After and Failures For Gods have a bad production? HAHA. |

Failures for Gods does compared to Here in After for instance.. _________________ Buy my KVLT: http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60310
