Real metal fans are rare to be found on this board. It's mostly young norsecore-til-I-die spawns of satan that post in these threads, you know the kind of people that buys tapes of Ukrainian TH rip off lots and thinks that Darkthrone should only release albums in the vein of UaFM.

It's just not that interesting. The songs are overlong and Fenriz's vocals are awful. Trad/epic metal has seen lots of bizarro vocalists that somehow mesh with the music, but he's not one of them. |

Haha, absolutely!
Seriously, the Darkthrone/Fenriz-fanboys are getting more annoyingly butt-hurt than the Watain/Shining-fanbase by 2013.
Just accept it: It's simply not that good anymore. And if we want "true metal" (last time I heard this word was maybe with Hammerfall), we listen to the originals. Period.

| I like the newest Darkthrone more than the last few, I think it's the best thing they have done since 'The Cult Is Alive'. Can't see me paying more than $30 for this on vinyl, though.....especially since seeing the digi cd at HMV for $14. I would rather listen to Goatlord or even Ravishing Grimness before any of the last few, like most of you I'm sure. I still prefer Modern Darkthrone's style over modern Impaled Nazarene style any day. |

Fenriz is pathetically attempting to be viewed as true metalhead guru with 'don't give a fuck' attitude and hide shitty songwriting and performance under that. What's even more cringe worthy even 'elitists' are falling for this marketing strategy. |

Not to add that there are trad Metal bands that rock and do far better music than DT does nowadays. For example there is VESTAL CLARET, among others.

He basically is a "ture metal guru" though. Whats annoying is him playing up to this image and grandstanding.
