Just got done listening to their new album and it's actually pretty great! Which led me to listen to their classics, a binge if you will. I love both the early primitive, punky albums and the more technical/progressive/futuristic albums. Not a fan of anything after Angelrat (aside from the new one) but every thing else is great.
Incredible band.
Discuss.

| My favorite band of all time. To me, Rrröööaaarrr is the ultimate "war metal" album. I celebrate the band's entire catalog, even the stuff with Eric Forest is great. The riff piggy lifts from the actual Outer Limits show on the Outer limit's title track is genius, and judging by the Video they put out a while back they've still got it. |

Pretty okay band, though they've never really gotten under my skin for some reason. _________________ http://www.UnbornProductions.com

| Killing Technology and by a large margin. Top 10 thrash album imo. Don't really care much about Nothingface-onward, good but not my thing. Everything prior is essential. Haven't heard the new one but from what I've read I don't think I should skip it as I did the last one. |

I can see it pretty easily that Voivod is not a band for everyone. Some like only War and Pain and some like all the albums.
Dimension Hätröss is the best. Macrosolutions to Megaproblems! _________________

| I like the first 2 much more than the albums after but it's difficult to choose one over the other, I'm gonna vote for Rrroooaaarrr. |

Impossible to choose between War & Pain, Hatross and Killing Technology.
Outer Limits also rules. Yet to hear the new one. |

All killer albums and one of the most intriguing bands bands from that era. Killer art, songs and the band members also had the ability to talk seriously about their music rather than pull "I'm mad, me" faces, throw the horns and give the finger relentlessly in video interviews which was quite odd for a band at the time... Big Voivod fan here, among my all time faves. I think a major reason why I love avant garde black metal is in fact Voivod and their dissonant riffs. I really love their 90s material too, especially their Eric Forrest era, oddly nowadays I've been listening to these albums more often than their classic stuff.. _________________ Sic transit gloria mundi |

easily one of the best thrash bands of all time. Like most, don't really care for stuff post-Hateross, but nothing they have done has been absolutely unbearable and thats saying something over so many years. _________________ Wants/Trades: http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=275935#275935

Killing Technology is top 10 ever in thrash metal.
I consider them as the most influential band for black metal.Their cold chords and harmonies (for example s/t track from Killing..) helped a lot many bands of the second wave .
Almost all albums rule!
I haven't listened infini and the last one yet. |
