give this band called gunslinger a listen! very motorhead-ish and features ex-member of hawkwind

Ah yes alan davey, he had two members of his other band the meads of the asphodel playing in gunslinger with him for a while, Alan has a motorhead tribute band called Ace of spades. I think dave brock hired him into hawkwind because he looks, plays like and sings like lemmy!

Pretty much.
Ace of Spades has been done for a bit, their main gig was Alan Davey's Bedouin (kind of a HW/Motorhead cross) and AoS was just moonlighting.
Gunslinger will pull out the occasional Motorhead cover though.

Alan's priority for this year though is probably Psychedelic Warlords, a tribute to Hawkwind's Space Ritual.

Would like to see Gunslinger do another album, preferably with Nigel (guitarist/vocalist on the first album, who doesn't tour with them).

Exactly. Answer = none!

As the person with (possibly?) the largest Motorhead collection on this forum, I can confidently say that there's absolutely no substitute for the real thing. Luckily there's a shitload of it to enjoy.

But as far as bands with a prominent influence, try these. Many mentioned already.

Gunslinger (more in tone than songwriting)
Dum Dum Bullet
Bulldozer
Bathory demos & debut
Tank (a very overrated band imo)
Boulder (certain tracks here and there)
Sodom (more in work ethic but also musically)
Saxon (ditto)
Girlschool

They even do Motorhead and Iron Maiden covers. The main guy used to play bass in Nachtmystium (i think??). Shocked

Far from a clone, heavily influenced but I consider Superchrist one of the best heavy metal/rock n' roll band of these times. Yeah he played and wrote music (?) on Eulogy IV (the only really good Nachtmystium record).

Thank you for the compliments. The lineup for that EP was Superchrist plus Blake. I have played every instrument in Nachtmystium (at one time or another) but never been considered a member.

Forgot to add these, though they are sounding closer to early Venom than classic Motorhead

The new Witchgrave album has some Motorhead sounding riffs, far from being a clone though. Worth checking out.

Terrorhammer. Not clones, but you can tell these guys are into Motorhead.

And the real deal. This may be the greatest opening in the history of rock.

To me Filth Hounds of Hades deserves a fucking monument to how amazing it is, Black. I'm kind of surprised by your criteria here, although I do recognize (personally, anyways) that Filth Hounds of Hades is their only essential piece. For some reason I am not partial to any of Tank's other albums.

Anyways, I can't really tell of a Motorhead clone. Twisted Evil

Might want to give Antiseen a try. They're violent punk with a singer that's got a very Lemmy style of singing.

Also I'll second Speedwolf, phenomenal stuff and highly underrated.
