Horror Pain Gore Death Productions is proud to announce the reissue of the classic MASTER album "Faith Is In Season" on CD format. This 15th Anniversary Edition includes an all new layout as well as alternate enhanced artwork, and is set for release on April 7th. If you are in the Philadelphia area this weekend you can purchase the album before the official release date at the Philthadelphia Infest. Below is the official description:

Official 15th Anniversary Edition reissue of the classic Master album "Faith Is In Season"! Master is the most well-known project of bassist, vocalist and songwriter Paul Speckmann. Prominent in the early Extreme Metal underground as one of the first Death Metal bands, they are also one of the most influential artists alongside Death and Possessed. Master helped invent the genre of Grindcore as well, expanding on a heavy influence of Motorhead, Venom and Slayer. Originally released by Pavement Music on April 7th 1998, "Faith Is In Season" marks the true return to brutality for the band. Thick bass reproduction stands out on this raw, muscular recording as well as lyrical content that is full of visceral emotion and antisocial resistance. This sixteen track beast clocks in at close to 54 minutes of pure terror, sheer madness and primal rage! Features an all new layout and alternate enhanced artwork... bow down to the Master! For fans of Asphyx, Autopsy, Benediction, Bolt Thrower, Cancer, Entombed, Grave, Malevolent Creation, Mantas, Massacre, Morgoth, Obituary, Pestilence, Repulsion and Sinister. A mandatory piece of Death Metal history!

You can pre-order your copy for only $10 including shipping at http://hpgd.comoj.com/store/hpgd063.html

I really like early Master but this reads like a Nargaroth bio. I don't hear much grindcore in early Master. Am I missing something?

The unreleased '85 album is good shit, but otherwise I agree.

Terrorizer and especially Majesty were greatly influenced by Master but it's rather their non-Grindcore elements.

All songs were re-recorded on the 1990 version. The old versions sound much rawer obviously and the songs are generally played faster with simpler arrangements. Production is even rawer than the old Death Strike recording.

Pretty much all early grindcore bands were big fans of Master, and often the slower bits in their songs would sound a bit like Master. Still, I think the OP is a bit exaggerated regarding this.

OT, how come Luigi's buttplug aka Craig Sielski is banned?

On topic, no chance for a vinyl edition of the album?

If they're gonna re-release the mid to late 90s Master material, I hope they make new art for them. I really love Master and all, but some of the covers are among the worst I've ever seen. They look like some home made CDR of a dad hard-rock band or something.

Actually, I just saw they're all 00's albums. I could've sworn they were older, probably because of the shitty covers.
