Does it play? Most CDRs from that era that I get are spoiled by now. Hate CDRs... |

Well I have few factory pressed cds from 1991-94 era that are dead. Not scratched or Damaged, died. Rotten inside, bronzed or something physical aging. I avoid buying anything from that era.
Good quality cdr will last long too. Also I have cdr's from 1997-1999 that are in perfect condition, much better than many factory pressed new cd's these days. According to results scanned with various drives. Of course there is cdr's that have died in few months.
Pretty much offtopic, does not belong here. I know.
But that Urfaust cdr is not one that I would consider good quality one. So I am also interested, does it play? and from what year is that actually from?

In late 90's cdr's were expensive so many who made demos /compilations bought bulk sales. So quality was usually terrible. In 1999 I bought bulk cdrs (just plain silver, no texts or anything) something like 50 or 100 copies. Half of them didnt even burn. So I bet that those copies that worked, have already died some time ago.
Still those cdr's that were at decent quality work fine. That is great cause I have plenty of personal stuff in them. Would suck to notice that masters from some recording sessions doesent play anymore _________________ Mors fennico more |

It was just re-released, but people will pay good price for this edition. I don't think it's a bad album at all, a bit softer than the Blut aus Nord-debut. |

Yep I know this exactly. Also I have experienced some strange inner deteriorate of that silver layer in few pressed cds. Looks very wierd when checking disk in good light. like that layer begin to crack roundwise from the outer edge. And does not play, of course. Yet I have not found anything like it from the net. Same era. |

I'll leave it to simmer for 2-4 years and check again. I didn't think much of the Blut Aus Nord debut either and I almost traded it away.. well, maybe time will work its magic on this one. _________________ §:-«l |
