fuckin horrible.Thin and scratchy or flabby and scooped to shit. |
Agreed, I've only ever seen two in action and they've both sounded fucking awful, even with great amps and great guitars. |

It was less about the sound, but yeah, wasn't too crazy about how my protools masters came out. It was mostly a workflow thing, the way that AA pretty much changes the soundwave in front of your eyes (something audio nerds call destructive editing) that PT can't really do. Plus for some reason the default multiband compressor seems to be the best I've ever used (don't know why, gone through 3 or 4 on PT with mixed results).
There's a few other things to do with the way it's set out, operates, etc, that makes it feel like it's just suited to mastering, the same way PT just seems to be really suited to mixing. This is all just my opinion though, so whatever floats your boat! |
Great point indeed. |

Run us through the rack gear, I'm guessing:
Power conditioner
Effects unit
Power amp/ splitter maybe? (pretty sure I'm wrong on this)
Dynamics unit of some sort (gate / compressor / limiter)
How far off was I? _________________ Ignivomous merch: abaddon_963[at]hotmail.com

Super close.
Power conditioner
Reverb /effects unit
Sonic Maximizer
Compressor /gate (not in use - opted for noise reducer pedal)
not pictured: tube screamer and noise reducer pedal |

The last time I moved I needed cash and space so I got rid of my entire rig save for my favorite guitar and a really shitty Behringer practice amp. Plans are in the works to rebuild the death machine. In the meantime here's my '84 custom USA Gibson V. Basically my favorite possession. I wouldn't mind swapping the EMGs out and getting original pickups though.

Are those guitars custom built?
How's the gain settings on the digitech gsp? im probably going to replace my Marshall jmp-1 im looking for a possible replacement (not economical to invest in a tube amp in my country for there are no service people skilled enough and have parts to fix specific issues) |
