I've never been into the chaotic bestial stuff. wrathprayer, katharsis and others like that who are being worshipped here ain't my fav cup of tea.
so recommend me some new underground band that are more riff and "standard" song structure. tribulation, dissection, watain, repugnant are a couple of fav bands.
the new wave of oldschool swedish death are great at producing bands that are majorly my cup of tea! verminous, vampire and all that good shit |

New band from Texas and they certainly are riffy.

Death Breath
Desultory - Into Eternity(Although it's not a new album, i think it fits well in the category of "riffy") _________________ Tales from the Ezra Brooks cycle... |

Pretty weak if that is the best you can find! Never heard but just taking a peek into their metal archives page tells enough. _________________ Heavy Metal Nuts

I still think they manage to write far better riffs and create the right atmosphere for this blend of genres far better than the 'others' have managed to (thinking Ketzer, Gospel of Horns, Nocturnal and the likes)
their riff structure is much like Ketzers'.. its just way better _________________ Buy my KVLT: http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60310

Spearhead - Decrowning the Irenarch
Great riffs and fairly straightforward song structures. |

Mortuus "s/t" EP and "De contemplanda Morte; De Reverencie laboribus ac Adorationis" LP are mandatory.
Pseudogod "Deathwomb Catechesis" is another one. |
