Sinister; started off ok, then got silly. Good original soundtrack, plus Ulver and Aghast which was quite surprising to hear!

Great and subtle soundtrack on this one for sure(probably the best thing about it).

If that makes you not check out Bubba Ho-Tep, you're missing out on an amazing movie.

I like everything about that film besides Campbell, actually Laughing .

I thought Coscarelli's new film John Dies at the End was pretty entertaining as well.

Oh man I don't even know where to begin. Laughing Laughing

I have had a completely non-ironic love for Bruce Campbell since I was a kid. I mean, Army of Darkness is fucking awesome, especially if you saw it for the first time at a pretty young age. I often wonder whether certain movies/books/bands would appeal to me if I experienced them for the first time now though. But I am a diehard Campbelljugend for life, haha.

Saw "Evil Dead" and "Jurassic Park" in 3D this weekend. Next weekend I think I'm going to throw myself and my wife a little film fest to get her to watch some movies she needs to see: "2001" and "For a Few Dollars More" are at the top of the list.

I don't know how can you enjoy the movie if you don't like Campbell's work in it, since he carries pretty much 90% of the whole thing. I thought it was a great performance, very different than his usual shtick.

Just watched the good old Godfather last night at a local movie theater. Was good seeing it on the big screen.
Also watched The Devil Rides Out once again, and this morning:

I think the creativity of the story and general direction of the film is what appeals to me, despite Campbell's omnipresence .

Yeah... I really can't explain my distaste towards him. Something just fucking irks me about him. I always want to yell "shut the fuck up " at the screen when I see him . The only real objective criticism I have of him is that he's a one trick pony, but ever then, I'm not sure if it's because he's a terrible actor, or if that's just the way he's typecast.

Army of Darkness really doesn't hold up well for me... I loved it as a kid/young teenager, but recently watched it again about three weeks ago for the first time in at least 12 years. The only thing that kept me watching was the great stop motion work / wisecracking skeletons "Lets get the hell out of here ! " Laughing

Has anyone seen The ABCs of Death yet by chance?

I have heard it is very gruesome, kind of curious about it.

There were a few good segments but overall it was kind of meh.

I watched my Bluray of Danny Boyle's "Sunshine" twice last night, one the movie alone and once with commentary from Dr. Brian Cox who was the scientific consultant. I have 15 films that are 10/10 rated and this is one of them. Apart from some flawed science (Cox explained this as "artistic license) this is pretty much a perfect film. I have seen this more times than I can remember and the whole "oxygen garden/Kaneda's sacrifice" scene brings tears to my eyes every time. Just beautiful.

Edit: I noticed some music from "Requiem for a Dream" in the trailer linked above. Lot of films seems to use parts or it's score in trailers during that time period. Coincidentally, lots of films have used parts of the "Sunshine" score since Smile

In the original script, they actually have sex. No joke.

I remember hearing that some edit of the film emphasizes that aspect of their relationship more. Perhaps it was just a rumor. Anyway it's really not a major part of the story anyway and it is one of my favorite movies of all time. Long live Besson!

Yeah there is a version that really does emphasise the sexual nature of their relationship. It is slightly creepy, but I love Leon. Excellent film.
Although Natalie Portman is very hot now and has always been cute, I can't watch her like a virgin singing scene where shes wearing too much makeup in front of Leon. Very cringeworthy and uncomfortable to watch.
