I watched one called "Killer Joe" with Matthew McConaughey a coupla weeks ago. Pretty damn good movie; I recommend it.

Yeah! Great flick. Pretty twisted!

I watched "John Dies At The End" yesterday. I have mixed feelings about it. Seemed pretty nonsensical but then again I was like 7 or 8 beers deep when I popped it in. The meat monster at the beginning was super cool.

Saw Jim Van Bebber's "The Manson Family" at the cinema last night. Although I have seen it many times it was very cool to see it on the big screen. Very lame crowd, 8 people in total including me and my friend and two people walked out during the Sharon Tate murder scene. They also showed Van Bebber's new short/promo "Gator Green" before the feature. It was cheap, gritty and violent so Van Bebber fans should enjoy it. Hopefully he can secure funding to make the full film!

I could never understand the point of Van Bebber's The Manson Family. So he just basically refilmed all of the scenes from Robert Hendrickson's Manson, only with actors? Why? I really liked Deadbeat at Dawn, but The Manson Family was totally pointless and masturbatory. Sure, he added in the embarrassing bumpers of nowadays Manson followers and filmed the murder sequences but they were pretty tame for the most part, he even shyed away from showing Sharon Tate getting stabbed since she was pregnant. It's just a shameless ripoff...

If someone told me Rob Zombie filmed this, I wouldn't be surprised.

I guess this is a director that metalheads are just supposed to worship? Embarassed

Skyfall - Blu-Ray

Javier Bardem looks fucking ridiculous with that blonde haircut. Laughing

Fuck yeah. And I didn't think he could top the dutchboy 'do he had in No Country For Old Men! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Really liked Skyfall. Excellent cinematography. Great what a good director can do sometimes. Bardem needed more screen time though. The sequels will be odd too...

Have they said who the next Bond will be? A friend told me it may be Idris Elba, who played Stringer Bell on ”the wire”. Fantastic actor, and it would be quite a change to have a black 007

You should watch the tv series Luther if you haven't already. Really great.

Hmm..could be interesting! I haven't seen skyfall, and have heard that Luther was well worth a watch. He was great in the Wire.

I love The Wire and Stringa as much as the next guy but how anyone could say Luther is a good show is so far beyond me. I couldn't even finish one episode. Stupid sensationalist "gifted cop" drama. The same type of idiocy as House. A syndrome adopted from the Americans, who mostly make unwatchable tv.

I though Daniel Craig had signed on for three more films?

That is why i said the sequels would be strange, because in Skyfall everybody is telling Bond "It's a young man's game" and he's too old etc.

Skyfall was great indeed and a very nice comeback. as a 2 wheel fiend, I thought the intro motorcycle pursuit scene was EXCELLENT! I didn't really care for Casino Royale, and I don't think to date I've ever been able to finish that one without falling asleep

also, a black bond would be too bizarre and too hard to swallow. this would be a BAD move on their part if this ever happened. there is after all, something of tradition with this series... perhaps they could introduce a black character as a different agent, just not 007...

I heard Tyler Perry is set to direct the next Bond movie...

"Bond... James Bond."

Personally, my interest in it was mostly down to the Skinny Puppy soundtrack. The film took so long to finish that the ST was available years and years before the release. There's no denying it's a bit of a mess, but i remember it having some cool moments.

I don't think anybody believes that if you're a metalhead you have to worship Van Bebber, neither metalheads nor Van Bebber himself.

Just saw the "Evil Dead" remake. I loved it. Great gore, cool sound design and sets, good pacing, and different enough from the original that it stands on its own.

Yeah, that doesn't look like a jew at all.
And Anthropophagus only has 2 or 3 good scenes anyway. Buio Omega is way better.

French extreme madness:

Inside
High Tension
I Stand Alone
Irreversible
Frontiers
Baise Moi
Martyrs

The New French Extremity Movement is a breath of fresh air to the tired, stale, and repetitive horror movie genre of today. Martyrs is the only movie I can compare to Hellraiser II, and that's quite a big feat.
