SKR073CD
Release Date: July 8, 2013
CD
$11.99

Shadow Kingdom Records is finally proud to introduce THE VEIN. In between creating masterpiece Epic Doom Metal albums, 2 ALTAR OF OBLIVION members give birth to a devil child called THE VEIN. THE VEIN is a Death/Doom Metal twist to what ALTAR OF OBLIVION is doing. Their approach is very Epic in nature, but this is much darker and heavier. This is very classic in nature Ė falling back towards the late 80ís / early 90ís Death and Black Metal. The band starts off with a very unique release, a double EP! I donít think this has ever been done before, but if thatís not true, we at least know itís not done very often. We have been waiting to put out the right kind of Death/Black Metal for a long time now, so prepare to be destroyed because this album stacks up with the best Doom/Death Metal out there today!

Chapter I: The Poisoned Chalice
1. Pale Dawn Rising
2. Seeds of Blasphemy
3. Acedia
4. The Poisoned Chalice

Chapter II: Born into Grey Domains
5. The Great Deception
6. Carving a Labyrinth of Despair

We're proud to unleash just 2 SONGs only.

Badass.

Reminds me a bit of early Runemagick, so naturally I dig. Instant buy.

I like, but the low vocals lack personality or identity. Shame, as the higher pitched ones are much better.

The vocals are death metal (pretty good imo), it's not supposed to be high pitched...

The higher pitched vocal parts (i.e. 1.40, 2.09, 3.30-3.50) sound better and have more personality than the lower ones. Was that so difficult to understand? And why be so sensitive about criticism? I like Altar of Oblivion a lot, and this song is well written, but some of the vocals don't move me.

What part of my statement is sensitive?

I thought you meant the high pitched vocals in ALTAR OF OBLIVION were better than these Death Metal vocals.

Feel free to criticize all you want, I just didn't understand what exactly the criticism was until now.

Great song! Epic.
I hope that this is not the best song from the release as is the case with most 'samples' before a release. Would hate to buy the CD based on one song just to realize the rest is just fillers. I really like what I hear though.

All the other songs are quality, no filler here. I'll release another song when we get closer to the release date. Wink

I've updated the description, I don't want anyone to think ALTAR OF OBLIVION quit because they haven't.
