Hardly surprising considering 95% of the metal fans there are delusional clueless douchebags like you.

The band themselves (or Joey) are equally delusional to think that Manowar is as big band as Metallica or Iron Maiden. That's why their concerts are ridiculously overpriced, like the recent three gigs in Finland with ticket prices going around 80 euros and they played on clubs that hold a bit over 1000 people. Not icehalls, not arenas, not stadiums, just clubs.

I recall this being the only song off the "Gods of War" album that made any impression on me when it was released.. listening to it again, its pretty cool!

also this just brings out my inner 13-year old

I was revisiting this album today, another magnificent release. The title track is yet another impressive hymn in the traditional MANOWAR vein.

Hand Of Doom is the stand out song from that album imo.

Yeah it's an excellent one, I like The Fight for Freedom and House of Death as well. I could live without Nessun Dorma to be perfectly honest, as much as I think Adams is the best metal singer on the map he doesn't fit there. Or may be I'm just too used to having Pavarotti sing it and of course there's no one on Earth who can pull that one off better than him.

Well I'd gladly pay twice as much to see them, it's fucking MANOWAR so yeah they obviously have a right to think they're the biggest band in the world -they are in fact.

Hail to England, Sign of the Hammer and Into Glory Ride are the trinity. Though I like everything up to Louder than Hell.

Haha indeed, remember when I saw the poster for their gig here in Stockholm and though I can't remember what venue it was I've been there many times and never payed more than 35 euro. But it was 650 SEK which is roughly 75 something euro for the Manowar gig. Hilarious price.

Best Manowar song is "Die for Metal". Nothing beats lyrics like:

"So i walked outside into the street
From a hall i heard thunder and screams
I walked inside so i could hear
and the guy beside me gave me a beer"

I Chose Hail to England, not only because it was my first introduction to the band as a nine years old kid into Conan comics, but also it´s their most flawless album with epic stuff only. First four albums have a sound so ballsy it´s a shame that kind of production style is gone nowadays. After those a couple of albums are good too, but pretty much after Ross the Boss left the magic was gone for me.

Also, christmas decoration with a band logo, ballad track for Elvis and viking ship burning village festivals are just a bit too Las Vegas for my taste. But that´s the way heavy metal is nowadays, it´s plastic sold as metal! And you buy it! Good for you!

They sell autographed copies of their last shitty album and the shitty re-recording of the debut for 170 bucks a pop. And anyone who doesn't like overpriced crap....IS AFRAID OF HIMSELF!

If there are people stupid enought to pay 80€ to see them live, or 170€ to get a signed copy of an album, I don't see any reason to stop doing that. that's how a boys band work actually.

Not sure about 80, but I would pay an expensive ticket to see them play a long set with good selections and no macho crap in between.

€100 is a fair price to pay for three hours of the best band of all times. I pity the faggots who spend the same cash on five Sargeist cds.

100, 80, or even 60 euros is ridiculous for a live concert imo, but in the case of Manowar that's a club show price of a considerably huge metal band. They'll never become as commercially successful as Iron Maiden or Judas Priest, but they're considerably bigger than other heavy metal bands of their days.

I don't know how it's overthere but in Italy tickets for those bigger shows rarely cost less than €60-70, the situation in Serbia isn't better either. I paid €40 (which by comparison is even more, given the cost of life/average salaries here) to see Metallica in Belgrade last june.

I saw them play with Immortal ( Confused ) in 2002 in the Chicago burbs for $12 ~ .
That venue only held around 150 people I'm guessing and it was the loudest goddamn thing I've ever heard (and yes, I've seen Motorhead many times Laughing ).
