Ah crap it was Svartahrid. I think they're the reason why I've been avoiding Svartsyn all this time, heh.

makes the 1997 edition sound like child's play. but if you're into that nostalgia-stained washed-out-can't-hear-anything-sound, then you'll prefer the 1997 edition.

I for one preferred that washed-out "sound," on the original The True Legend...something very raw and uncompromising about that one...

Desecration at a graveyard only gets more points from me....

I can't blame you. it is svartsyn, after all.
destruction of man also seems to be ornias' favorite album.

That's understandable, even though it isn't mine.

I love the original True Legend, complete with the pleasantly awful sound. It takes some time to figure out the riffs, but once you manage to do that, the album only gets better. One of a kind obscure atmosphere.

His Majesty is classic great Swedish bm.
Fantastic!

Recently bought with high expectations ''bloodline'' and ''destruction of man'' but noone can be compared with ''His Majesty''.
Even ''the true legend''.

I miss the 3 latest albums though and I haven't heard a note from them.I should check them out.

The last great Svartsyn album was Timeless Reign. They lost something after Draugen left.

I've only heard His Majesty. I just purchased it last month as a matter of fact. It's a devastating album but I haven't quite digested it yet. It's one of the few black metal albums that evokes the word "brutal" for me. Something about the drums I think. Very punchy and relentless.

Fully agreed. It's just not groovy anymore.

I find the riffs on that one to be atypical, part of the charm
they very memorable
the album's piano intro is my ringtone
