You're not the only one. I love Macabre Eternal. I'm sure the new one ill get a lot of spins here as well, although that artwork is fugly. _________________ Analog Worship

The Horrific Obsession 7" was really good, if that one passed you by? |

Macabre Eternal was amazing for a new death metal album made by an old band. While Morbid Angel toyed with Rammsteinish shit Autopsy crushed. Totally anticipating this release.

I love this band and everything they've done, just haven't heard the latest releases, but yet, I LOVE Shitfun, that one is deadly and an underrated cult classic, Autopsy was the sickest band in death metal, while they were active. _________________ "By all evidence we are in the world to do nothing."

I listened to those tracks on the compilation DLP. Not saying they're awful but from Autopsy I'd expect something more. _________________ Permabanned |

Macabre Eternal is a good album. I don't see what so "shit" about it. Then again we have a 7 page thread on the new Ghost album and kids who like Blasphemophagher in the forum. |

I love Macabre Eternal as well. It was a great comeback album and I still listen to it all the time.
I also find it hilarious that people expected another Mental Funeral, or their early best albums, when it came to Autopsy bringing out a new album when they returned. You all know that was not going to happen. Same with any band after they broken up and then resurrected after so many years.
I can't wait for the new album and show with Bolt Thrower. |

A failure to repeat former glories isn't the issue, more that the extremely high quality of previous output hasn't been matched. I think it would be pretty hard to disagree with this statement? _________________

Yeah that and Necrophagia's Holocausto De La Morte too... can't understand what's so bad about it, I think it's harrowing as fuck and probably the finest Petagno piece I've ever seen after some Motörhead artworks. _________________ You make me dizzy with your disease

I see where you are coming from. Personally, I think Autopsy cannot be lumped into the box of old and tired bands who couldn´t write tracks that come close to their early glory at gunpoint as for example Unleashed, Pestillence or Obituary (at least the latter put on a good show eith old stuff on a good day).
Autopsy still write better than expected tracks which - in my unhumble opinion - are more or less up to their old material BUT (look, a big but, hoho) there is a bit of repetition which has crept in which has marred ME.
Maybe quality control has suffered due to one or more blunts too many. That would also explain the length of ME... somehow. _________________ A nobody in a world of somebodies.

I'd agree with these statements. I'd sooner have thirty five minutes of top class material than an hour plus of average, mainly unmemorable songs. Or maybe my own years engaged in marijuana ritual have made my attention span so fucked that I just can't hold my ears for as long as these songs require...! _________________

The next time you listen to "Spill My Blood", think "Smell my Butt". The results can be quite entertaining. |
