This is the way I feel about a lot of more recent death metal albums/bands. Lots of hype, and the music isn't "bad", just nothing refreshing and new. I'll probably order this LP eventually though, maybe it will grow on me.

I think the fact that most of the album was comprised of the demo material lessened its impact.
I love the songs, but I would have preferred more new material. I listened to the demo about fifty times over the past couple years. |

Three of the songs were on the demo. Not most of the album.
But that's what a demo is. Bands use to re record demo material all the time.

| Yeah, the riffs don't stick out at all to me. Too much groove for my taste. The last song is a killer, though. Can't argue with that one . I think the better recent examples of this style are to be found in Binah's debut album, and Desecresy's "The Doom Skeptron". Both of those hit the sweet spot for me in terms of both riffs and atmosphere. |

The new Desecresy is great. I agree. |
Check out the Binah album if you haven't ! It's killer from the first spin, but there is a lot that reveals itself over time on it too. |

I think this album is great. No complaints here. Better than most other death metal acts out there.
