I sent a package (one LP, 950 grams) to Norway last week and the postage was 31 euros. If I would have sent it as a maxiletter, the postage would have been only 13 or 14 euros. Seems like packages outside EU are really expensive, even if they go to a neighbouring country. |

so how much is the shipping for one 7" from the US to Europe? |
I've seen Yosef post that he was able to ship an EP for $12.75... I on the other hand had a slightly different experience. to be precise, I mailed the Satanic Threat EP to Brazil in a U-line style EP mailer with stiffeners on both sides of the EP and plenty of tape to secure all edges... this ended up costing me $14 + some change. pretty expensive... I don't think I over packed or anything, perhaps it was just the additional packaging of the cover itself that made it slightly more pricey. either way, I would expect anywhere from $13-15 for a single EP these days, depending on the release itself and packaging methods used... makes those two song EPs with gatefold covers less appealing than ever! hahaha |
Well. that 7" is thicker & heavier than most. Plus, my price is for online postage, it's more expensive to pay at the post office. _________________ Analog Worship

This is a very good point, and I actually made a post about this exact topic on my label website today. I had recently made some decisions about handling all orders for Outlaw releases directly and not doing wholesale/distro stuff any more since my releases are so limited and it just wasn't worth the hassle.
But after the USPS postage rates went up so high that it was going to cost more for shipping than the LPs that people ordered (especially since most of my releases are $12-15 max)- and I decided to try and find a German distro to carry my releases and make them available for people in Europe more affordably. People in Japan can order from Record Boy, and I'll just handle direct orders from the US. Seems like a better solution than trying to make people order more than they want and/or just quitting doing the label at all. |

Good. They should add Sunday delivery too, and just eliminate that bullshit rigged future-pension-payment system that's designed for insolvency. _________________ Analog Worship

As the US goes bankrupt, expect this to get worse. Without the ability to deal with unions and pensions, they're going to have to keep raising prices. _________________ DEATH METAL UNDERGROUND |

Inevitable reality. Not sure it'll happen in our lifetime, but it will happen.
Vinyl values will plunge as the market collapses, and the soundtrack will be the Terrorizer "World Downfall" LP!! Not the repress, but a VG condition copy of the OG black vinyl version on Earache! |

Haha! Great that you referenced that pressing of the LP!! I forgot about that variation, even though I think I still own it! I got that pressing from Wild Rags back in the day, it's cool looking with that alternate dismal grey color scheme on the sleeve. |

Despite the increased postage rates, I've had some packages recently make it to their destinations incredibly fast: media mail to CA & NY in a couple days, a 7" to the UK in 4 days. Those lazy union workers can get shit done when they want to! |

I've had some weird shit like that happen as well. Sent shirts to people in the Netherlands and UK from the US and they arrived within five days. Gotten stuff from Germany recently within four days or so as well. |
