|
|
I need some help here. I'm somewhat new to all of this, but it's only been lately that I'm starting to learn all of the numerous options that receivers have. I have a Pioneer receiver that is a bit outdated, and it only has 100 watts per channel, and I have been using these speakers with it:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-SS-B3000-Bookshelf-Speakers-Black/dp/B000OG6I6A/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1370126018&sr=1-1&keywords=Sony+speakers
For awhile the speakers have been making an annoying ringing noise, and all the bass sounds distorted, so I can only guess that the source of this trouble is my receiver.
Anyway, I'm looking for a receiver with atleast 120 watts per channel and with phono/aux outlets, as vinyl is my main listening format. Anyone with something like I described, please post a link to it, pics would help too. Any help will be appreciated. _________________ "By all evidence we are in the world to do nothing."

I was looking around, and it seems most new receivers these days don't even have phono outlets, I guess everyone is into dvd, ipod, blu ray, etc.. _________________ "By all evidence we are in the world to do nothing."

My old Technics ones from 1992. Probably the next upgrade in my stereo. Otherwise they do the job nicely since then, even if sometimes they don't respond at low volume. _________________

I own two Technics stereo systems, one has a SA-DX930 receiver and the other a SA-EX320, I recommend searching for any of the DX models. |

I have an NAD 720 BEE receiver and it fucking rules. Aux input for a phono stage. Killer shit. Not one single issue and I've had it 8 years now.
Odds are it might be your speakers rather than the receiver - speakers are by far the most important component within any system - a good receiver is of course essential but less than awesome speakers with a great receiver will under perform great speakers with a sub par receiver, at least in my opinion..... |

Sony STR-D560Z. I've had it since 1995 and it's never failed me. I also have the same pair of Infinity speakers since then. I've had to have them re-surrounded once, but they still sound great. |

It was made in 1978 and still works like new! I'm sure that it can outlive mankind! |

Pioneer SA-7500.
Got it for free from the owner of a local record store that went bankrupt.
It says 40 watts per channel but I have never turned it louder than 4/10 since my closets start to tremble and shake. |
