Everything VR did with Albert is excellent imo, first album is great too. I really like Warball as well, that was a pleasantly unexpected comeback, Rivera did an amazing job with the vocals.

Bullet!

Not a veteran band from the 80's but a recent tribute to the genre.
Very cheesy but very enjoyable too.

I totally agree, "Vicious Rumors" and "Welcome To The Ball" are both excellent albums, "Vicious Rumours" actually is one of my favourite classic Metal albums. However I always got the impression, that the Carl Albert days (probably with the exception of "Digital Dictator") are considered "too melodic" by most Metal listeners, also because the lyrical themes switched a bit from the more traditional Heavy Metal lyrics of their early albums. So I spared to list them here.

I didnīt follow the band after "Word Of Mouth" though, which I remember to be an "ok" album. Havenīt heard it since probably 15 years so I canīt really comment on that.

You'll definitely like Warball then, high-pitched US Power Rivera style. Great vox & excellent songwriting, I believe the overall presentation didn't do this album justice as it wasn't received as well as it could be. I mean, ok, the cover is pretty awful, doesn't make you feel like you wanna check it for any reason at all.

Sadistic Symphony has its moments, but I think I mostly like it because I'm a big VR fan. I was listening to it quite recently actually. Can't tell about the rest, I haven't listened / followed their entire discography even though I keep thinking I should. I also wanna buy some of the previous stuff as my old CDrs are starting to deteriorate, but I am under the impression these CDs have been heavily bootleged and discogs doesn't mention any details on differences between pressings and so on

I love Digital Dictator and the two Atlantic albums. It can never get too melodic for me.

Johnny Touch from Australia are a good new-ish Heavy Metal band, line-up consists of the usual suspects (from Stargazer etc).

Received the demo last week and it blocks my stereo since then.

I've been listening to Sarcofagus' Envoy Of Death a lot lately. Brilliant record, almost Mercyful Fate level.

ADX first album, more Speed-Metal than Heavy but a must-hear IMO.

V8 from Argentina, RESISTENCIA and ARKANGEL from Venezuela.

The first one if HM with a punkish side in the attitude and lyrics and straight to the point songs, the second one twin-guitars brilliance and totally great coupled with top-class musicianship and vocals and the later shows a surprising dark side on a good part of their songs.
