^^ agree 100% with the above sentiments about Carpathian Wolves, the first press is the first one i heard, and then i got the NC remixed version later and really wasn't into it like the first mix.

Lets hope the original is rereleased some day, because i think itd blow people who like the NC version minds (it really is THAT much better and something worth tracking down if you have never heard it).

I never noticed much of a difference at all.

Here's Barbarism Returns from Eternal Devils version: http://www.mediafire.com/?699zf69e198561h

I also did a quick compare to the later No Colours version and the sound is different. Bass is more upfront and guitar heavier in the Eternal Devils version.

Cheers for that! I compared the track you uploaded to my 1998 NC vinyl and it seems (at least to my ears) that the sound is the same. So apparently old logo = original sound.

The Celtic winter has always been my favorite Graveland release. Carpathian Wolves and Following the Voice of Blood come close as well.

I picked up a used copy of Dawn of the Iron Blades the other day for 4 bucks, figured it was a steal. Gonna spin it tonight. Am I in for a good listen?

Definitely In The Glare/The Celtic Winter/Carpathian Wolves era. Has their greatest songs (Barbarism Returns, Unpunished Herd, The Night of Fullmoon, In The Glare of Burning Churches). I was never a huge Thousand Swords/FTVOB era fan though enjoy them once in a while. After that it's hit or miss (Immortal Pride and Creed of Iron being their best Bathory era stuff) and before that I need to be in a certain mood.

First track is amazing, rest is ok. Fire Chariot of Destruction is far better.

That's definitly the 2 best album of the "Viking era".
But I'll keep Fire Chariot as first Wink

Thousand Swords with Creed Of Iron coming to a close second.

I enjoyed all of Graveland's material.

Does anybody else notice that the Warheart reissue of The Celtic Winter has quite a bit of skips through out? I have the CD version and it's pretty prominent. The In the Glare.. version dosn't have any however so maybe I just got a bunk copy.

Alas, that seems to be true. Plus the label skipped any spell check too, come to think of it. It's beyond me how they missed obvious errors that make the booklet look retarded... Confused

I dealt with the guy and based on that I can say that he himself is a retard. That should explain the retarded errors.

I went back and revisited a lot of old Graveland and here is my list for 2014. Ten years ago I would've picked Thousand Swords or Carpathian Wolves for the #1 spot.

1. Following the Voice of Blood.
2. Thousand Swords
3. Carpathian Wolves
4. Celtic Winter
5. In the Glare of Burning Churches
6. All post Following the Voice of Blood albums lumped together into one pagan man pile.
7. All shitty demos leading up to In the Glare of Burning Churches.

Luckily I got them pretty cheap. I'll probably just stick with the No Colours versions ha.
