If only for that timeless masterpiece that is "Between Birds of Prey"yeah it's pretty much one of these "i gotta have it" albums.

Not too keen on the drums/distorted bass tracks, but such jewels of neo-classical/martial music in there, as good as the very best of LJDLP, DB and Karjalan Sissit but even more fundamental.

Oh good.

Just wondering since I saw someone post a pic of their copy a few days ago.

Blood Axis is overall a good project. I am content with the CD format but I understand the long overdue wait for the LP.

I just wish Michael Moynihan wasn't so wish-washy about his stances.

I just wish he gave us more US shows. I swear it feels like he hates performing in the US and he's from the US.

Even Boyd Rice does full US tours.

I could very well be wrong here but I get the impression that he thinks Blood Axis is "too cool" for America and strictly a Europe thing. If that is the case then it certainly is his prerogative.

Got this today. The presentation and artwork is really nice, but the vinyl itself was a mess in my copy. Tons of little scratches all over both sides, and I don't think I've ever held a more statically charged record...

Saw them perform at Stella Natura last year, and it was pretty terrible. It was like they hadn't touched their instruments in a decade.

Definitely not my experience when I saw them in 2005. They were excellent live. A lot of the material that seems boring recorded was transformed. "Herjafather" is a good example. Recorded, that song is pretty uninspiring. Live, it was used to open the set and create the proper devotional energy among the band and audience. It's based on a Shaivite meditational chant, and the way it was performed live really brought that through as the naturally building tension of the song worked to evoke a feeling of religious ecstasy.

The reissue LP sounds great, too. Less tinny than on the various CD editions. This is the definitive version of the album. I hope to see a similar reissue of Blót.

True. One of the best live perfomances I've ever seen. Very professional.
