I went to Pacific Rim yesterday and loved it. It had everything a life-long fan of mechs and kaiju would want. I'll be seeing it again before it leaves the cinemas. |

Saw The Conjuring last night. FANTASTIC 70s styled haunted house film. Incredible attention to detail, wicked atmosphere and great acting. Definitely the best American horror I've seen in a long, long time. Whomever did the cinematography on this film deserves a standing ovation. Truly outstanding imagery and camera movement. You can tell everyone involved gave it their all.10/10, go see it! |

The CGI is very well done. The monsters all have real life animal inspirations and look like really detailed men in suits. Other Godzilla geeks seem to dig it too |

Only complaint about pacific rim is the cheesy and cringeworthy dialogue. Will check The conjuring next. |

I don't think it was supposed to be serious at all. _________________ ... |

That just keeps it consistent with the majority of other Kaiju films throughout history. |

I placed an order for Dark of the Sun, a much underrated and crude war movie from the 60s, with Rod Taylor.

This is up on Netflix right now. I wasn't expecting much, something like an indie romantic comedy / "Kick Ass" hybrid. It kind of is, but this flick is also incredibly brutal, almost on the same level as Hobo with a Shotgun, in parts. Lot's of big names in this one too. I was pleasantly surprised. | If you enjoyed Super you MUST watch "God Bless America" as well.
Also, I recently watched The Human Centipede II. It was depraved and vile, which I liked, but it also had some flaws like bad acting in some places.

SOME? haha. I feel like it took itself much less serious than the first one which overall was a good thing and worked much better than the reverse would have. I"m actually moderately excited for the third one as the director has said it'll make the second one "seem like Disneyland"

Pacific Rim was actually better than anticipated from this thread.
Maybe the download in it's cam corder grain glory just added to help make me feel 10 again watching a Godzilla styled film minus all my cynicism.
This movie was totally fun for me again. |

YOU'RE ONLY MAKING DADDY'S WILLY HARDER | Didn't he say something similar about the second one compared to the first one as well? I guess he did deliver, so I'm excited as well. Also, I loved that part. More movies need to incorporate pedophilia and child abuse. |
