Solid band. Nothing groundbreaking but the music is well-put. The first MLP was quite strong but the songs on the full-length lack somewhat of direction IMO. However, at least they have some personality, contrary to a lot of retro DM bands.

Maybe i should finally get the EP!

There needs to be a topic on this? I though everyone with even a bit of sense or good taste in metal worshipped DC.

Sorry, I forgot NWN! has degenerated to discussing the top-notes of a particular Norwegian's fart smell. Or NK7. Or whether or not CARNIOVRE were "nazi"s, and how that makes us feel, on the inside. Or if I should wear a black shirt with my blue jeans, or maybe a hat too, or if blue is actually really even kvlt at all. Or maybe talk about the condition of the shrinkwrap on our three-hundred dollar records when we don't know the difference between direct-driven or belt-driven technology, or own a turntable.

Shoot. Darn it. Man.

\m/ WORSHIP WITH THE DEAD CONGREGATION \m/

I believe my comments to Anastasis after finally seeing DC perform live were "TOTAL RELENTLESS ASSAULT".

Blasphemy. The LP is a million light years above the MLP. Definitely one of the best (if not THE best) release in death metal since 2000. Only a few others come close...

It's good but there are lots of good albums that "come close"....
Excoriate, immolation, grave miasma, funebrarum, portal ...

I remember being kind of let down by the full length at the time. I was so into Purifying Consecrated Ground that at first it just didn't live up to my extremely high expectations of what I thought it would be when I first heard it. In retrospect it's a great album but will never have the same sort of personal connection I had with the first release. Sitting alone and drunk in my apartment banging my head while playing Auguring an Eternal War over and over again.

I wonder if anyone who calls them "retro" or an "Incantation clone" has even listened to their records. There's so much more than that going on!

Anyway, do we have to answer this? Any record nowadays is marketed as having "much more than that going on". The band didn't create a new genre but uses it its own way. That's more than what we can expect today.

It wasn't a question, it was a statement, nor was it marketing.

By the way, any news about a new record ? Laughing

I'll be curious about how many "big" labels as Century Media or Nuclear Blast contact them to release their new stuffs ! A lot I guess...

I'm sure bigger labels are interested. But I asked Anastasis once about and he has no intentions to make the band bigger, he is happy how things are as of now. And new album will come when it's time for it... Hurrying up only fucks things up.

When I talked to him last summer at Martyrdoom he said they were going in studio last fall... I guess things were delayed but here's hoping it will come out sometime next year. This year has already too many good releases, we need to keep some for 2014 haha !

Excellent band indeed. They got this retro feel to them, but no way are they playing retro DM.

They have tracked the drums for the new album. I don't know anything beyond that, however.
