My guess is that it was done for people who discovered thrash in the last few years, and for the label to cash in on the current popularity of the genre.

I wouldn't call that a guess, thats a fact. I heard the Destruction re-recording of 'Mad Butcher' and outright refused to listen to it. I read a recent interview with them where they said it was for younger generation fans who couldn't get into the earlier albums due to the production or some bullshit like that. No doubt this was the thinking behind Sodom and Exodus too.

Excuse me!? Since when was thrash supposed to be 'nice', if these stupid turds can't take the original then don't fucking well listen to thrash. Go back to the stupid nu-metal or whatever rubbish you were listening to when you were a teeny kid.

Right.
I remember when Schmier mentioned to me that was one of the main reasons for doing 'Thrash Anthems', for the 'new' kid fans who can't get into the older recorded stuff and that he had/has plans to get Destruction on Apple's I-tunes. .
Confused

This album is a disgrace. And they made better "re-recordings" of the classics as Another Lesson in Violence live album with Baloff.

Totally useless! They've done this only to attract mallcore kids who can't listen to Bonded By Blood. Avoid like plague!

Ughghhhgh!
I have been a sucker for Exodus ever since I picked up the Vinyl for the original Bonded when it first came out. I read all of the comments on this board and ignored them.
As a reinforcement to anyone thinking of getting this, take heed of the warnings. Maybe if they had Steve Souza (it would have been worth downloading) The charm of the Original was that each and every riff was crushing, the production had a killer vibe going and the vocals were so original. I should have ran when I saw the name Andy Sneap, but I was caught in a weak moment. 13 bucks lost I could have put towards the Mystifier box set.

By the way that would be a killer thread "caught in a weak moment"
I know there are folks out there that have made the same mistake.
Maybe not, I am just trying to make myself feel less ashamed for pissing on Baloff's grave.
By telling you all I bought this is like going to metal confession.

It's also possible that they don't make any money at all on the original BBB. Seeing as sales have probably picked up on that in the last couple of years, maybe they wanted to see some of the rewards.

Still, haven't heard it, not that crazy about the original either. It's good, but I'd rather listen to the Germans.

That actually hadn't occurred to me, but is a good possibility. Personally, "Bonded by Blood" was one of the first metal records I ever heard and it's never gotten old for me. At the same time, I've never liked ANYTHING else that Exodus did.

Still, the few songs I heard from it were aweful, and since Baloff is no longer with us, getting someone to ape his delivery seemed in poor taste.

I agree here. I can just see this album being all over the local Hot Topic.
Just leave the classic albums alone people, goodness.
