Please, help us to give this black death style his own recognition!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bestial_black_metal

We need references and sources... and more history like the second wave of Brazil like Impurity, Mystifier and Goat Penis, the australian war metal, the creation of Conqueror, Black witchery, the reunion of Blasphemy... the new bands like Revenge, Goat Vomit, Proclamation, Bestial Raids, Blasphemophagher...

Goat Metal, War Metal... call it what you want... this is a proper black metal style and people have to know that!

I concur -- delete it. Not because it's too "sacred", but simply because it should be merged with the official Black Metal article.

"Goat Metal" really doesn't need it's own article...

Fuck this shit, really. Bathory's first record is as bestial as it gets. Should we call Bathory "Bestial Black Metal" then, other than just BLACK METAL? The same way some dipshits would called Black Sabbath, "Doom Metal" instead of just HEAVY Metal?

OK and explain me this: why is Saint vitus a Doom Metal pioner instead a Black Sabbath clon? In the other side some people call Black witchery as a Blasphemy clon and not a Bestial-War metal pioner??

Do you think Blasphemy, Beherit or conqueror are the same style than Burzum or Watain?

In regards to Vitus, I don't know. They weren't pioneers to me, they were just a Sabbath worshiping bunch, but they still maintained a unique face. Ask them and I'm sure they'll tell you Sabbath were the pioneers, not them. Anyway, who cares?

As for Black Witchery, why would anyone call them a pioneer?

Ditch the word "style". Different bands with different influences, but all one thing in common: they play METAL and it's BLACK.

Some people in the old days thought (and still do) that Blasphemy was just a satanic Grindcore band.

Agree. I think it should be possible to find some decent sources, some fanzine articles about so-called War Metal records for example. Or this one:
http://www.metal.de/cdreviews.php4?was=review&id=8944

The first paragraph says that among the trends in Black Metal, like suicidal, NS, Pagan, Melodic and so on, it seems as if now, War Black Metal is in again and the kids now put their Mjölnirs and Absurd shirts away and wear spikes, chains and inverted crosses, say they have always listened to Blasphemy, and drinking and antisocial behaviour are in again, as the times of elite are over and we are Metal again. That, at least, is what they write. You could take that as a reference for the clothing style, maybe, and for the emphasis on drinking, unlike the Norwegian scene, even though they drank like alcoholics, too, as Fenriz stated in another interview which you can find here. Well, he also mentioned he was drinking every day in the old days, but that was only about himself, not the scene.

The article goes on saying nowadays you have so-called necro bands everywhere, including this Italian band, Necromessiah, even though their sound is too ordered and structured for a real War Metal band. So this might suit you, as it says War bands have a chaotic sound.

Well, this band is of course rather unknown, at least that is my impression. For Black Witchery calling themselves a War Metal band, see the interview on Full Moon Productions: http://www.fmp666.com/moonlight/blackwitchery2.html. This interview also shows they are not trying as much to be a serious band as the Scandinavians, and includes a fuck off to the bands following the Scandinavian sound, which strongly differs from what is called War Metal. And I doubt you will find bands calling their music Sophisticated Black Metal Art, as Samoth did for Emperor, or trying to be philosophers.

The oldest mentioning of War Metal is, as far as I know, by the band Holocausto from Brazil. For Impaled Nazarene, you can mention the early releases (as far as I know, the newer ones are too far away from this War sound) being strongly influenced by Grind and Crustcore. No wonder there was an Extreme Noise Terror cover, I think Mika once said he was influenced by them. Even Google can find some results for the term and the bands mentioned in this Wikipedia article, not only in forums, shops or weblogs, but also results you can use for the Black Metal article.

By the way, you could also add a section about the Greek sound, like Necromantia, Varathron, Rotting Christ and so on. For a starter, I have here a COC rant about the Greek Black Metal, and you can download a few articles from Kill Yourself!!! zine here. There is an interview with the Norwegian band Gehenna, I think there was something about Greek Black Metal there.
I also found a Necromantia review, in German again, but beginning with an English quotation.
I also found some article about scenes in different countries, but I have not read it yet. See http://www.geocities.com/james_montague/ed4.htm.

For War Metal, maybe these hyperlinks might help you:
Impiety interview, where Kaos Kommand album is called a very brutal and fast Black War Metal album, and the band says it may only be played in its most extreme form

Impiety review
One more Impiety review
Impiety again
Review of NSBM band Goatpenis (album title is a slogan used by German B&H since they were forbidden in 2000 or so), you will find the usual suspects mentioned here, such as Blasphemy and SarcóI_LOVE_PENIS.
Interview on NWN! site, might interest you, as a source for the artwork and image of those bands, like goats and gas masks

I think this should help.

Same goes for Darkthrone, they always said and still would tell you they were just worshipping Frost and Bathory back then and not creating a new style.

Fuck. Are you THAT bored, nocturnal slayer? If so, then wikipedia really needs you to do seperate articles for each one of the following ''genres'': Pentagram metal, baphomet metal, goat metal, pervertet cross metal, war metal, panzer metal, bestial whatever, frost metal, mountains metal, necro metal, nun-perversity metal and many more. Oh, and don't forget Hangöver's unique genre - ''Wife-beating punk/thrash metal''. It really differs from all the other motorhead/venom influenced black/thrash, doesn't it?

No book, article in Terrorizer or fucking Wikipedia article does it any good. Media attention drags Black Metal down the mud. Especially in such a pseudo-academic fashion.

The last question, what does it really matter?
