I'm finding a few tracks really stand out on this album, most seem to blend together I find...Not as memorable as the last album, I think it will grow on me as I listen to it more.

Spiritual Plasma Evocation is the highlight, followed by the title track and Where Darkness is Lord and Death the Beginning. Not as strong as the prior album... but it's hard to top Ominous Doctrines. Only Invoking the Majestic Throne of Satan is a stronger album than OD.

I'd rank their albums thus...

1. Invoking
2. Ominous
3. Into the Infernal
4. Nefarious
5. Obscure
6. Magnificent
7. Anxious Death/Forever Under (not really comparable though, two diff eras)

Great. Thanks for the tip, man. Cool

Well shit, I went ahead and bit the bullet on the $20 CD digibox version of this release.

I just couldn't justify purchasing the LP version, which is something I only get for albums I really like and I haven't heard a lick of this one yet.

So in case it disappoints I can probably make a 5x profit from it in the near future, thereby it's a win-win deal, I think. The digibox looks decent and I get an Inquisition key ring also.

Is there a real difference in this re-recording of "Where Darkness is Lord and Death the Beginning?"

I got my LP and a couple different CD versions after work today and had time to listen to the LP once. I really dig the production, particularly the drum sound. No standout tracks for me yet, they all sounded great! But as with every Inquisition album the favorites will come as I listen more and more. I'm happy that I waited to listen to this until I got the LP, it definitely sounds a lot fuller than the first official track on YouTube. The goatskin LP jacket is pretty cool, much more sturdy than I imagined, and the goatskin keyring that came with the CD box is an interesting novelty Smile

Looking forward to blasting this during the commute tomorrow.

I really enjoy the direction their music has taken since Ominous Doctrines of the Perpetual Mystical Macrocosm. It's a really good album. Inquisition quality nonetheless.

I haven't gone back and listened to the original, but besides the production, the vocals sound quite different to me. There are some strange effects going on there.

Nope.

Invoking The Majestic Throne of Satan had the sample on track 5 (title track)... "You are now my living altar....."

The first track on Nefarious Dismal Orations has an awesome orchestral/choir intro who's origins I'm unsure of but it sounds similar to the spirit of the old movie clips so I associate the pieces.

Haven't listened to Magnificent Glorification of Lucifer in years, so I may have been mistaken on that one.

I thought you were talking about the samples taken from the Inquisición film which only appear on the first album and the second track on Ominous.

Per the band samples from "Inquisición" were used only on the 1st, 2nd and 5th albums.

Samples on first, second and fifth albums are from Paul Naschy's film "Inquisición" (AKA Inquisition).
