You're right. The Ceremony LP isn't changed nearly as much.

Not a fan of the vinyl cover either, but at least my old tape and cd of Blood Ritual has the original, I guess can look at those as I listen to the record? Cue the fact that one probably doesn't need a release on 3 different formats.

I see no real problem in having say, two copies of a vinyl and a cd of the same album. you have a backup vinyl and you can listen to the cd in your car. with many of my most favorite albums (every album in my collection is a favorite so...) I have cd copies.
CD copies often include the correct lyrics (ex: newest Nominon album) or extra artwork, or the lyrics period, whereas the lp does not (ex: unanimated in the light of darkness).

I like it when labels like agonia, deathgasm, century media, and hells headbangers have a combo lp+cd pack for a lower price.

what are people's personal reasons to buy tapes though? I don't understand why, if the release is also on CD or vinyl, anyone would buy something with tiny cropped artwork, tape hiss, and no track skipping - rewind and fastforward pissed me off so much as a kid when I had tapes since my parents wouldn't get me a cd player. if you have tapes since the 90s or demo tapes not on cd, I understand, but these new tape releases boggle my mind.

This thread turned into something more about Blood Ritual artwork then the actual sound of the Ceremony reissue Lp's.

There's only two types of people who still buy tapes these days:

- scenesters under 30 in need of UG points/credibility
- Poles, as it's the only format they can afford to buy

Some stuff is only released on tape, especially demos, so there's that.

Edit: I guess you covered that in your post, missed that part initially.

I had the same thought about 20 years ago when every damn album got bootlegged by some polish tape-only-label.
But i love it, for the nostalgia!
