Serpentfyre - Of Darkness & True Light

"Five songs of pure obscurity and darkness are delivered from the hearts filled of true devotion. Uncompromising exploration through the hostile warfields of mans inner nature is the thing here. This is our attempt to expand the limits of our conscious reality, to see clearly through all ostensiblies of our cosmic universe, to the pure essence of All, the eternal Black Flame.

As we don´t consider ourself as band in manner people too often want to look at it, there will be no any written history for Serpentfyre, nor there will be any conceited biographies nor any other artificial things pulling your focus out of things we want to deal with: the absolute reality.

Serpentfyre plays traditional black metal with influences taken from varying forms of its rich heritage, sometimes focusing more on aggression, barbarism and hatred, sometimes again more on atmosphere and more premeditated forms of worship, but moreover: our aim is to bring forth the mysteries of our multifaced redeemer to people. Let the Serpent arise."

Tracklist:
1. Ride the Dragon of Endless Void
2. A Step into the Unknown
3. True Death
4. Torch
5. Fenrir

A little bit OT but.. Gonna start a shitstorm probably but fuck this is a watered-down concept... all these Orthodox Gnosis Black Chaos Flame Void Dragon Serpent bands... I do wonder how many of these actually carry out some kind of religious practice or actually applies these philosophies on their everyday lifes. Not necessarily saying this Serpentfyre thing is not the real deal (although, probably), but fuck, not even the supposedly most devoted, genuine, extreme and "die hard" core of arguably the most devoted, genuine, extreme and "die hard" music genre (black metal) is left untouched by trendism. I take it most of these just imitate and revere their heroes (DSO, Funeral Mist, Katharsis, Watain, etc).

A shame, because in this conceptual style of black metal, I find some of my most respected bands throughout musical history. Just needed to rant. Embarassed

It's like this with every subgenre of Black Metal. You can't really do anything about it except embrace the fact that in the end everyone will let you down.

Serpentfyre's now sold out from Cursed Tapes, but these distributors might still have some left:

Ahdistuksen Aihio Productions
Caligari Records
Exitium Productions
Frozen Blood Store
Gravplass Propaganda
Winterkalt Records

Mordgrimm and Nil By Mouth should have some copies soon, too.
