The only ones I can come up with right now are hardcore records.
Death Threat - For god and government
The second half just drops in quality
Betrayed - Substance
I only like the song Understand
Trial - Are these our lives?
I only like the song Reflections _________________ https://hinderbm.bandcamp.com/

Rammstein's Mutter and Sehnsucht are both very uneven. _________________ Buy my KVLT: http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60310

Overkill's Under the influence starts out with Shred which is a nod to the older albums then goes with a shitty mid paced song after, and then its Hell from the gutter which is the last good song before it turns to mid-paced boring shit
Burzum's Fallen starts off well with Jeg Faller and Valen and then the rest of the album just drags on with bad spoken word parts and mediocre riffs. _________________

Is this the soundtrack of The Emoji Movie? Seems fitting as both are cancer incarnate. |

CANDLEMASS - Tales Of Creation
A side - disjointed mess full of fillers, B side - awesome |

To me Piece of Mind
A-side is best heavy metal ever
B-side has things like Quest for Fire which is probably one of the most neanderthal compositions ever (fits for the lyrics I guess).
The moment after "In a time when dinosaurs walked the earth" when Bruce goes totally over the top still cracks me up after all these years. |

Tracks 1 through 4: arguably the best heavy metal every recorded. Side 2...not so much. The rest of the album is not horrible but it doesn't touch the beginning. |
I can see what you mean about the beginning of that album being much stronger than the rest, but I think it's all great (except "When the Night Comes Down", which is kinda lame IMO). It can't touch 70's Priest, of course, but I think it's a MUCH stronger album than Screaming. Most people I know worship Screaming, but I've always thought it was pretty weak aside from a few really killer tracks. |
I fall into the Screaming camp personally. As an album, I've always enjoyed that much more than Defenders. (Heavy Duty is just bad).
I could see Piece of Mind coming up but I still love that album. |

thanks for reminding me Spectre!
yes, Piece of Mind! - though the "fillers" suit the other songs well, but it they aren't on the level with the brilliant ones either _________________ Buy my KVLT: http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60310

LOL So true about "Quest For Fire"...silly lyrics, but musically it kicks ass...as does the entire LP. My favorite Bruce album, hands down.

It is indeed pretty lame, but I've always liked it as a sort of "call to arms" anthemic metal song. Cool riff, too. _________________ Evil Is As Evil Does... |

Ha! I agree with Meddle but for the exact opposite reasoning, basically it's One of These Days and Echoes and a bunch of stuff I don't want to listen to in between.
I'll throw Master's Hammer "Mantras" out there. _________________

Panzerfaust for me. Those two perfect fast bm tracks...either one of those could fit perfectly on Transilvanian Hunger. Some of the best music Darkthrone ever made, particularly "En Vind Av Sorg." The rest of the album is either mediocre or downright boring. |

Yeah, but that is the only 'bad' track on there. The rest of the B side is killer material.
People often say that Powerslave is half killer/half filler too... I don't think that's the case personally. Those songs in the middle of the album are all great, but when they are book ended by 4 of the best Maiden songs ever I think it clouds peoples judgement of the 'filler' songs.
I'll add Emperor's Prometheus to the list. There are some scorchers on there that wouldn't be out of place on Anthems (Thorns on my Grave, In The Wordless Chamber...) but the rest is a bunch of pseudo intellectual pirate shirt poof. |
