Great band. Not quite what I'm after but I get what you mean.

Which of their 10 million releases are you referring to? Nothing of the small amount of stuff I've heard by them resembles neo-folk.
Dismal wrote: | Don't Nhor from the UK do some neofolk and also BM. So that's kind of ( not really), what you were after..! |
Couldn't hear any neo-folk, but great stuff all the same.

Thanks but native american themed BM sounds as cringe-worthy as the idea suggests.

No metal on the album I listened to, but bloody amazing all the same. Thanks for the recommendation.
ghaaroth wrote: | German Empyrium, while not exactly BM, went from metal to typical german neofolk. And russian Obereit (from the guy who used to be in Death Triumphant, if I am not mistaken), which was neofolk all along then suddenly went back to metal on last album. |
OK, thanks. |

The Austrasian Goat: the first release is very atmospheric, almost soundscape black/doom, their 2nd mostly blends BM and Neurosis style experimentations, with only the last track being an (amazing) acoustic folkish ballad. Search the tube for “Miles from anywhere”.
Then we have the FULL no metal/folk only LP you mention, and finally a 2LP compilation including all their METAL styles, from the full frontal quasi-punk BM, to the crawling black/doom.
Very interesting band BTW. _________________ VAE VICTIS |

Blood of the Black Owl - A feral spirit is a great album of black, doom and folk combined.
There are native American influences though so maybe you won't like it.

On a different note: Isn't neofolk more a mindset and outlook than a certain sound?
With such very different acts under the neofolk moniker there isn't a universal sound to it. Except maybe for the typical DIJ strumming.
Groups like Forseti, Naevus, Sieben, The Joy of Nature and Dernière Volonté all sound completely different. _________________ https://hinderbm.bandcamp.com/

Maybe it's just me, but something about this particular Judas Iscariot track reminds me a little of Death In June: http://youtu.be/rFlcoII5464 |
