I don't consider a parcel lost, whether I sent it or whether it was sent to me, until it's been 2 months.

But really, why do we discuss these individual cases in public? The only possible outcome is to add embarrassment to frustration.

I actually have a photo gallery of returned parcels from recent years:

I've been meaning to take photos of all of them and contact the buyers to see if they want them resent. The most recent case was due to the buyer providing an old address. Many parcels from Europe come back for no real reason.

Well on my part I was just trying to ask about a possible future policy concerning lost packages. I'm pretty sure no harm has been done on anyones behalf.

But since the packages sent from NWN! are in fact traceable, even though Yosuke doesn't give out the number since it's alot of extra work when sending around 40-50 parcels at a time

Uhhh, with stamps.com and a little automation, this is really easy to do without any extra work each time you mail.

Ordering something to be sent by mail has always been the same: hit or miss. Most of the time it will be a hit, but when it misses it does hurt. In over 20 years I have only suffered from 4 packages missing...so I guess it is something I can live with...

There are a number of different ways to do it. Use stamps.com, it gets really easy. Use any other automated postal method, and it's just as easy. It depends on what shipping services you use. Let your eCommerce system do the work for you.

Yeah, I agree with you. You know you are taking a risk when doing mail order. That being said...it SUCKS.
Think about it : (i think this was mentioned somewhere on this forum before) What other company/service has you by the balls like the postal service?? They "might" lose your package? They "might" deliver it? What kind of service is that?? Imagine if you went to a restaurant and the waitress told you she would do her best to get you the food you ordered?? but, if something happens, you're out of luck and don't eat, yet you still pay for it. Of course, you can pay EXTRA to insure your food gets from the kitchen to you ! What a fucking scam.
I think ALL packages/letters should be insured by the postal system. YOU PAID for their service, and they fucked up, so you should always get a refund no matter what! What other business operates in this way?? none!

Since we all know they won't insure it for free, I'd gladly pay an extra few bucks to ensure my package gets to me, and always do if the seller offers the option.

I've been looking into Endicia.com for a while now. I hope to start using it in 2010.

No bad experiences with Yosuke/NWN! Never had a package go entirely missing. My worst experiences so far was Bludwulf/Jimmi Sinn taking 4-5 months to get my package. It eventually came, with two 7'' i didn't order instead of demo tape, but I was still happy nonetheless with it, and at least it got here. The only other problem was HHR miscounted the number of G.A.T.E.S. LP's they had in stock at one time, I went to order it shortly after I had heard they were in stock...the package did not arrive for a couple weeks so I sent Chase an email...apparently they had more orders for it than copies, so i was one of the unlucky ones who missed out on it, and still haven't gotten a copy to this day.

It sucks when shit goes missing.... nothing worse than anxiously waiting for weeks for that parcel on the doorstep or the postal slip under the door.
I've been living in Canada for 12 months now and of late have had two problems with parcels being returned to sender with vague 'nobody at this address' explananations. Which is total shit, because the addresses on the parcels did turn out to be 100% correct. I'm sure the parcels didn't even make it to my local depot for delivery.... In one of these instances I am not sure if it was cos of the fact that the description stated something like "commercial sample" instead of the mandatory and very vague "gift" notation.
Seems as though black metal vinyl is the perfect 'gift' for any occassion

I wonder why there are 4 pics of mine in the random cult photos folder. Question Question Question
Boy I'm old, can't remember if I sent them to YK or not.
