Old Priset is top notch, hands down.

Although Defenders Of The Faith had some great metal moments!

the first half of Defenders is amazing, then the album takes a turn for the worse after "the Sentinel."

I love '70s and '80s Priest. In fact I just won an auction for a Japanese pressing with obi of "Screaming For Vengence" in excellent condition. Very Happy

Great album! I think I prefer Stained Class and Sad Wings Of Destiny, but all 70s Priest is essential. Sinner has got to be one of the top ten best metal songs ever written. And Starbreaker rules... Cool

Yeah I love Starbreaker too!

Killing Machine, British Steel, Screaming for Vengeance, Defenders of the Faith, Painkiller and the last 2 albums are all killer in my opinion

That's pretty much the case with all Priest albums from the 80's. A few great songs, too much filler. I think it started with Killing Machine, which was a really good album, but already had a few quite commercial songs.

Here Comes The Tears / Dissident Aggressor - for me, that part of the album is amongst the best moments ever written in heavy metal.

Sinner is killer song, too. Starbreaker is cool and catchy... the rest of the LP, not so amazing.

You just have to listen to "Dissident Aggressor", and if you don't start to worship Sin After Sin album (and Judas Priest in general) immediately, you must be stupid.

I kind of agree with you but over time i've learned to love all of Screaming For Vengeance & British Steel. Most of the other 80s Priest albums have a lot of filler.
