Must have been “97, Cradle of Filth supported by In Flames and Dissection (who were the best band that night) in Cologne, got a ticket for free.

Edit: I forgot that Dimmu Borgir were also on that billing. Wink

I've seen footage of Quorthorn at a record signing I guess it was. The video was reallly long and boring, but novel to see him mixing with people etc. Had the big hair too from meomry he he, but there was no performance in this footage. Was it from the same event?

You're not a fan of AT THE GATES and MORBID ANGEL? AT THE GATES were really good, and MORBID ANGEL... well, I've seen those guys live so many times, but nothing compares to the 1987-88 rehearsals that I sat in on. Twisted Evil

Not a fan Of ATG. Early MA is fucking great but I knew I would not see that so I left. Dissection was all I needed. You remember a band from Charlotte called Golgotha?

Are you from Charlotte?

I'm actually in Huntersville, just outside Charlotte.

Yeah, I remember Golgotha. I first met Jon Vesano back in '89 when he was sporting a mohawk. Laughing Do you know Jon? I could tell you some funny stories about shit that happened between him and Dana during the Demonic Christ days. Laughing

Hell yeah! I live right outside of Hickory, towards the mountains...

I don't know him all that well, just thru small talk. I saw Golgotha play once and that was it. Never really got inot DC but I just never really gave'em a chance. I remember Dana saying how she didn't like Beherit at all (told me this at the Dissection show) so I just walked on... But yeah man, they made a good name for themelves I guess.

Yeah, I saw Golgotha once at the Milestone Club in Charlotte. Is that the show you're talking about? I can't remember who they played with...

I'll say this about Dana - any chick with a tattoo of the "Worship Him" artwork is pretty cool in my book. Cool

You'll be at the "Samhain BM Fest" on Saturday, right? Do you know what the final lineup is looking like? I heard they were supposed to add a couple bands...

The only other added band is a local one since Tentacles for Teeth dropped off. But back to topic I was at the Dissection show as well in Charlotte, snuck in with my aunt as I was uber underage at the time heh.

Was that the gig that resulted the Dimmu Borgir/Dissection split VHS?

My first Black Metal gig was Impaled Nazarene a years ago. 2004 maybe.

Which "local" band would that be?

You were at the D666 show, right?

I never saw that vhs but I just checked discogs, seems to be footage from that show indeed.
