Well, welcome to the party. Better late than never. Definitely one of the best doom/death bands around right now. "Mortuary In Darkness" is still my favorite. Great artwork as well on that record.

Yeah, I came around with Coffins. My initial listens were very brief and in a loud area. Once I borrowed the first album and listened to it, I was hooked.

I posted the link not becaue of anything that you said, just to let the poster know that there has been many threads already. My view of them hasn't changed. They're ok for the style. Uneven.

Same opinion here. However, I bought the recent 7" split with SPUN IN DARKNESS (mainly for their track) and was very pleasantly surprised by the COFFINS track. It's the best I've heard from them.

I like the new '09 track, didn't like what I had heard before though.

Speaking of Coffins, can anybody recommend any bands in that vein? I already dig shit like Winter, Dream Death, Goatlord, Cyanide, Mythic, Derketa and Coffins. But since I was never a big "doom" fan persay, I would like to explore the more "death" oriented doom bands. Even blackened doom is fine. Thanx...

I first discovered Coffins, when razorback released "Mortuary..." on cd. To me they get better with each release.

Edit: oh yeah if anyone has a Coffins/Cianide split for sale Pm me!

I followed this band since they released the demo compilation from some label from spain back then and got every single thing they have released. But after hearing the 3rd album, I dont see anything else fresh and new so I decided to stop buying their recent stuff. All you need is the first 2 albums and some covers here and there and you pretty much heard them all. I like the faster songs that they have though, its catchy as fuck.

Every release is a masterpiece, the 3 way split with Anatomia and Grudge kills, Listen to Decapitated Crawl and tell me this band is uneven , i have everything they've done so far and not one thing has let me down cant wait to see them when they come to the east coast
