i no longer give fucks about Incantation or Immolation including the myriad of bands playing that style, with one or two exceptions like "Graves..."

it is the way death metal should sound but it just bores me to tears these days.

Lol jinx

I think almost everyone likes Carnivore. Unless they only like black & death metal and how much weight do those opinions have anyway?

I would think it would be Bathory, but nope. I'm pretty sure everyone and even Donald Trump likes Carnivore. Him being the pussy grabbing, male supremacy kinda guy.

I agree, I barely even listen to death metal anymore these days with the exception of drunk Mortician sessions. Love that fuckin band.

Still play the classic DM releases sometimes as well just not as much as I once did.

Ancient Records is definitely overrated and it feels strange to me that most of the records being put out by this label sell out so quickly. I'm a fan of the sound however, Bekëth Nexëhmü being my favorite project which has a special kind of atmosphere that sets it apart from the other bands on the AR roster.

Yeah lots of it is unnecessary listening and not quite original but i agree with beketh nexehmu. Great bm project, IMO. I enjoy Urkaos and that one Draug album but its nothing super original.

That's the big problem with improvising everything and having so many projects. At some point, they all sound the same. It's hard to remain original and fresh this way. I do think they are more interesting than a lot of modern raw Black Metal bands today who try the same thing (improvising).

I quite enjoy the Hädanfärd and Grav projects, but I agree that the different projects are generally of the heard one, heard them all-kind

I disagree. There are big differences between Hädanfärd, Grav, Bekëth Nexëhmü, Mystik, etc. The differences are pretty apparent to my ears, at least.

This is very true, as a general observation.

Yeah.. no this is far from the truth. All of their projects have different sub genres of black metal influence. None of them really sound the same at all, they just aren't all per my taste. For example, I'm not a huge fan of Grav.

Listen to Urkaos - I; then listen to Beketh Nexehmu -Ge Glomdas Ursjala and tell me they sound the same.

Then throw Mystik in there for good measure. All very different in their own ways.
