Looks like I missed the boat on the hype. The NFOF pic-LP recently went for only $40, while a few months ago it went for around $150. The high price tag is only the BIN in case someone is willing to pay that much to get it right away. I'm also accepting offers, and I'm not expecting to get as much as the BIN price, but it's there just in case.

All my eBay auctions are paying for pressing new releases that I will inevitably lose money on.

I think there was some hype about them recently because some of their stuff was hard to find. Some hipsters get involved in anything obscure no matter how good or bad the music is. In Bone Awl's case I think their music is some of the best black metal to come out of the US in recent years. It is minimal like ildjarn, but more rooted in punk aesthetics.

Hmm ok. But not all stuff is that good right? What is the best recording to get into Bone Awl? Also, I'm wondering about their usage of Totenkopfs and Swastikas on their artwork...They doesn't seem to be NS related to me first, more a morbid/bizarre stuff. But hell what do I know, I'm just curious.

bone awl are one of the few bands, black metal or otherwise, that have improved considerably over time...in a genre where so many bands have a good idea, record one or two good demos and then release a flood of garbage, bone awl actually alter their style with each recording and, in my opinion, continuously improve upon the formula. i think the new demo is extremely good... defintely one of the only active usbm bands that is worth listening to...even if they have attracted a following of hipster douchebags from outside the metal scene...

I would recommend Not For Our Feet and Meaningless Leaning Mess recordings. Some of their material is too noisy for me to appreciate fully.
