How do these test press things work? If it's unsatisfactory do they charge you for another + whatever other process it takes to make a new one?

They work just like a normal record, just play it...

Sorry... had to Wink

Not sure what the process is if there is a problem, never encountered that. However, with another plant I am working with right now, the tests got lost in the mail, and they made 5 new ones and Fedex'd them over for free.

I don't think so. I think with problem test presses you mail them back stating you aren't satisfied with the end result, etc. Usually though if there's something wrong with a test press, it's more likely the fault of the source materials, not the plant.

I have at least one record from PP(Wastelander 7") that I've received with gritty sand in the grooves and inner sleeve, and I've heard other people say that its happened to them before too. Anyone had that happen to them here?

I ordered some Wormwood "Requiem" DLPs when they came out in '07 and they were exactly that same way. They wiped clean, but still was not satisfied with having sand-like material all over the record. I know a few other records have been the same, but the Wormwood one was the worst I have seen, with that.
