The new album has a really ugly atmosphere, actually getting quite addicted to it at the moment.

| The atmophere at the end of the album ("Tear this fucking religion to the ground" repeated over and over again) is amazing. I fucking like this album, it would definitely be a masterpiece without that shitty synthetic/triggered drums sound. |

I have to agree. Betrayal of the Lamb is one fucking mighty, ugly twisted track from hell. Feels like the walls are crumbling around me whenever I listen to it. Hahaha. Fucking great. Going to go play that LP soon. |

I'm sorry to resurrect such an old thread but I have to agree here. Betrayal of the Lamb is one of the maybe 5 black metal songs from 2000 on that have really sent chills up my spine. And I think if Ledney decided to go for a "doomier" approach in his new material, it's going to be nothing but excellent.
On to the the album talk, at first I really hated the guitar production and the drums, but 3 or 4 listens since then made me change my mind completely. I can completely get the same spirit of that of the 90's here now, but still don't see why Paul isn't playing on a real drumkit. This fucking guy was a great drummer and a prominent part of the old Profanatica sound/feel. Some poster talked about something about not bothering the neighbours? Perhaps, but there must have been another reason not to record actual drums in the studio other than bothering the idiot next door.
Anyhow, I hope if Profanatica's music is going to 'evolve', I sure hope it'll be in the vein of Betrayal of the Lamb, because if I'm asked what kind of Metal makes me lose sense of reality and drives me to jail, it's shit like Betrayal of the Lamb and the LP on my avatar. Slow and heavy as fuck riff-driven Metal turns me into a fucking criminal. |

i recently saw the profanatica dvd. most of the shows suck. the rhode island show was actually pretty good, thats about it.
there's an interview at the end that is quite laughable...they snap back and fourth from being "evil" and just talking normal...it's pretty dumb over all. at the end ledney starts pissing in a cup...then it cuts out. no drinking. i think some of the "bible semen licking" was in that movie "gummo"...it's a quick clip...saw it a long time ago.
also...he was supposed to drum with the connecticut cocksuckers with GG Allin...as far as I know this project never materialized as GG was arrested in 1989...then he went on the do the Antiseen stuff, Murder Junkies, then overdose and die.
i know someone who has dealt with ledney recently and said he's biggest weirdo, doesn't shut up about the stupidest subjects. apparently my friend just had to kinda "walk away" from the conversation cause the guy wouldn't shut up. |

The funniest thing that I heard about Paul was from Lee Barrett (Candlelight founder), he said originally when Havohej were on Candlelight, Paul was living at home with his mum and Lee wasn't to mention anything to do with Havohej when he phoned Paul as his mum is/was a massive Christian and wouldn't approve
Also the cover was shot just round the corner from where I work. _________________ Great trades with: Vorfeed, Kakarot SS5, GoldenBull, Rat eyes, Caina, Blekt, Uncoloured, Cursed Blood, Minge Eater, Portentum, Addison nektostiknekromessikk and Asphyxiation anyone i've forgotten give me a shout |

I'm perfectly fine with the developement of Profanatica's music if they throw their plastic pc drums in the trash bin
the album would have been so great without it _________________ Good/Bad traders list
