I have Denon, it's good, but I'm not sure how much that would cost in real as I got mine cheap from auction.

I have this Sony TC-WR445 doulbe deck. A-deck makes kind of wavy sound. It sounds like the music comes far and sometimes gets closer and it's really bass boosted. There's no problem with the B-deck though. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Easily the best deck I've had over the years. With all the technical mambo-jambo you need for perfect recording/dubbing. A Technics classic!

this.

Get it from ebay for around 50 Euros (at least if you have 230V/50Hz somewhere).

That's what my piece of shit does! That's why I need a new one...

i have an optimus sct-38 that's recently started doing essentially the same thing... fades in and out between good/normal sound to a far away muffled watery mess. at first it was just the A-bin but now happening on B too. i picked it up second hand for next to nothing years ago so it could just be totally shot at this point, but then again maybe it needs a cleaning & de-magnetizing? or is it just time for a new deck?

This may also be the result of crappy dubbing of the tape. It's not just one or two distros who dub their tapes with shitty equipment.

Nakamichi are pretty much top of the heap for tape decks. Ever their lower-end models are really good, and can be had for a decent price. Denon are great too, as well as Onkyo. Some Onkyo decks were made by Nakamichi.

Sony CD/Tape thing since early 90ies
my double tape Hitachi brick from the 80ies broke 1-2 years ago which sucks. still serves me as the turntable equalizer though.

I bought a used Sony TC-WE625 on eBay for only $35! I've been reading good things about them for dual dubbing and what not. Even if it does break, what a steal. Cool

What a steal. Sounds great, and what's nice is that it can dub from both decks at the same time from input. Cool

I also recorded that Hell Molestor material to the MC, and that shit is great. Totally reminds me of Archgoat's demo, but faster tempto.

You need to get a Tascam 302, the best tapedeck there is.

However they are really expensive (new about $600), so you should look for a used one. Bought mine for about $80.

That is quite the financial upgrade. Not yet. I'm really interested in Nakamichi's products as well. Pricey as balls though.

That Tascam is one hell of a tape deck though. Shocked
