The infuriating thing about that pic disc is just how bad it is. The Mutiilation tracks make "Rattenkonig" seem like a masterpiece, which is funny considering that album is almost unlistenable.

The other bands' contributions aren't quite as bad, just because they come with low expectations. Laughing But seriously, what a waste of wax.

Its the limitations. Limiting the releases to 12 copies = serious cash. 1000 copies and everyone who wants one gets one. Instead its a fucking joke and he's the root of the problem.

Indeed. Especially if you bear in mind the fact that Satanic Warmaster is in a way a pale imitation of Mütiilation and Drowning The Light a pale imitation of Satanic Warmaster...

I'm really not into this Drowning-The-Light-Bashing but: seriously dude, WHAT THE FUCK?! I mean, you are probably the LAST person on this planet that should complain about insane eBay-prices, mister: "Went to the basement last week. It's called "a tear in the face of the majesty of the nightsky" and is limited to 12 copies only. GRAB NOW!!!!!11111"

So let me get this strait - when a band starts out (and as we all know i have a fairly high output for the one project) and at the time there is little interest in the band so you limit the tapes to 50-200, the tapes mind you also ending up out on CD and LP (limited between 300-1000), then there is a boom and it is somehow my fault? Do i get a cent of ebay $$? no. There is an infinite amount of bands out there with limited demos etc. that people don't even pay attention to or does it sell for high $$ on ebay. None of it is in anyones control but the buyers out there. Most of which if they had sent me an email in the past i could of given them any of the old demos for $5, i had a box full of them sitting there for almost 2 years.

I sell all DTL stuff through my distro and i give all the die hard editions away to friends for free or for the same price as a normal edition because i'd rather the right people have it then it end up on ebay for heaps.

Am i in control of the "black metal stock market", of course not. Almost all new releases have been limited to 1000-unlimited (for CDs) and 666-1000 vinyls,300-600 tapes, which is more then enough (of course the special editions or die hards are a smaller amount), to stop some of the ebay mentality. The only thing i still limit to a very small amount are some of the DTL ambient demos - because simply i don't want them being spread as much, and normally the right people get their han

On the topic of that 3 way split, it was brought up by myself that it maybe should be done in 666-1000 copies, but at the time - 2006 - Meyhnach wanted it to be limited to 100, which was/is fine with me. I am still honoured to be on a split with both bands which have been a heavy influence over me.

Some of you may have missed the message Meyhna'ch left:

"MUTIILATION IS DEAD!

Sorrow Galaxies was probably the consecration of mutiilation's story
All i see is a empty grey horizon
I now just wait for Death
It was more than 15 years we spent....you and I
now it's over..........see you in Hell motherfuckers... "

But i have heard from Meyhna'ch after this statement and can say that i will still be releasing (officially of course):

Vampires... DLP
Remains... CD
Black Millenium... CD

So i hope these official releases will crush some of the bootlegs and stop some of the insane prices.

It's good news that the Vampires DLP is still coming out. Will you be doing a vinyl version of Remains.... and Black Millenium.... or are you just doing cd versions?

Just CD for now, i hope that he will want both redone on vinyl but time will tell.

This is a very good point. I release demo tapes at 100-200 copies usually because I cannot be sure of the interest behind them. No one can predict how well or not so well a demo will sell. Also many people forget, while there is very limited pressings by bands like Mutiilation, Satanic Warmaster, Drowning the Light, etc consider this:

Mutiilation - Vampires CD on Drakkar - 1000 copies
Mutiilation - Vampires DLP on EAL - 100 copies
Mutiilation - Vampires CD on Drakkar Vinland - 500 copies
Mutiilation - Vampires CD on Dark Adversary is probably 1000 at least
Mutiilation - Remains CD - 1000 copies
Mutiilation - Remains LP on EAL - 400 copies
Mutiilation - Black Millennium CD - 3000 copies
Mutiilation - Black Millennium LP on EAL - 400 copies
Mutiilation - Majestas Leprosus - 2000 copies

This does not include the bootlegs which exist, but overall this means...

At least 2600 official copies of Vampires exist on some physical format, and this is before the LP version is announced.
At least 1400 official copies of Remains exists on some physical format, with a re-issue on its away.
Remains ORIGINAL pressing was 3000 units, a number that's very unheard of for "kvlt" black metal standards.

Yet people still shout that Meynach wants peoples money hence the limitation. The stuff that is limited are for the most part unnecessary for the listener, and more intended for diehards.

However, I'm curious about the mutiilation/dtl/satanic warmaster split. I don't care in the end simply because I have heard the mp3 and even though i enjoy all 3 bands I find it unecessary, especially for it's asking price, but I am wondering if it goes for such high price and clearly 100 units was not enough, why is there no effort to re-issue it, even in 500 or 1000 copies alone, and a more generic version of it on black vinyl with standard sleeve or gatefold?

I, for one, never criticized the bands and artists themselves!
We are critical of the douchebags paying hundreds of $$$ for some LPs
We know all too well that bands dont get shits from such unfair sale!
And that it surely pisses them off like hell!!
I'd hate to see some of my shit being sold for so much when I won't get jackshit from that sale

Good to see some people see things level headed.
The amount of times people have made a comment about ebay implying that somehow i get a cut of the money is just stupid.

On the topic of Mutiilation, i have been listening to Sorrow Galaxies on repeat for the past few days and it really is a totally under-rated and overlooked album - it is simply brilliant.

Fuck... I was just wondering last weekend if we were about to see something new from Mütiilation. Oh well.

I'm amazed at how much some people are willing to pay for that stuff. Always makes me wonder if those are legit bids and if the seller ever actually see any money.

Meynac'h wants fame, not money. He doesn't need it, as far as I know.
