I still come across "Hell Awaits" or "Apocalyptic Raids" original pressings for $8 or $10. Score! And I would love to stumble upon DSP releases that are priced like that. Maybe one day.
Best score was at a flea market probably in the mid 1990's. Found a bunch of Sacrifice, Overkill, Venom, Sodom, etc. LPs for $1 each. It was some old fart selling them. His grandson passed away and his parents were going to throw them in the garbage but he told them that he will try to sell them at the stand. |
Never had that kind of killer scores hehe but have gotten a lot of cool records from people who were just not into the stuff anymore. Sometimes ended up with doubles that were good to trade. Like you, I don't see the problem with it. It'd be the height of stupidity to pass them up just because I already own them. |

The ironic part of all this ebay hate is ...that........ wait for it....... the sellers have to be people we assciate with via this or other forums, cause who else would be buying metal albums to profit?
I highly suspect you ebay complainers are here on other posts friendly and in shared opinion with same said sellers you are hating via this thread.
The whole ordeal makes me laugh.
Get a visa, buy albums on pre-order or from original distro on release date, avoid completely ebay from now on, never go back. Erase the link from your favourites and never buy again from there. |

I find stuff cheaper on eBay then from distros/labels. When Floga Records released the Samael LPs I got them on eBay for 10 EUR each. That was the starting bid and I was the only bidder. Sometimes the seller thinks that something will sell for a quick profit but it doesn't always turn out this way.
This thread is about crazy/high prices but that's just a drop in the bucket. Majority of the stuff can be found for a super low price. The usual DSO, Satanic Warmaster, Mutiilation, Mare, etc. sells for lots of money but there are thousands of albums/bands to choose from and if you look and set a limit for yourself then you will find some good stuff for a reasonable price. |

its becoming less and less with more people just starting a buy it now to "avoid the risk" - they can list it for $5 higher than the distro, eventually someone will buy it. auctions are becoming less common.
I just wish more of the slightly too high sellers at least accepted offers, but usually that applies to the stupidly high ones, and chances are if their kreator LP is listed for $150 they will think you're crazy offering $30
my only flea market experience with metal records was worse than ebay. Some guy had a booth with a ton of crates full of records. He told me they were even 50% and so i looked, a lot of classic rock and such but you could find stuff like motorhead iron maiden etc....except he priced them between $60-100. Even with his deep 50% off discounts that meant $30-50. I just walked away. |

I think it's not Napalm's fault that you're late and brokers raise their prices.
Who knows if Napalm will do re-presses. Certainly there seems to be demand for more. _________________ Heavy Metal Nuts

There's something fishy about those kind of auctions. I sold that demo on eBay about 3 years ago and got €35 for it |

Suuure.
Making 500 copies of such demanded albums was a great idea. Definitely.
A perfect example how label itself provokes ebay madness. |

Yea the Nocturnal Rites one goes all the way from 30 to 450 from just two people. The limited view of bidder history also shows that they've bid on this seller's items a fair amount this past month. |

I didn't had so much money when that LP came out, and I wanted to wait the Minas Morgul one to buy the two in one shot. They sold out very fast !! 500 copies for an album like Stronghold is clearly not enough in my opinion. I wish they will repress it soon ! |
