A large array of interesting projects right now coming from Finland. I'm aware of new bands and slightly less widespread ones such as Funerary Bell, Blood Red Fog, Musta Surma and the like but am curious to know if there any other projects I have missed out on (obviously exlucing Behexen, Horna, Sargeist, Satanic Warmaster etc). I don't really want to trawl through each and every Finnish band until I find stuff that is of high calibre.

Mentioning Funerary Bell, the first riff here is great - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wogv4F7qaEs&feature=related

A silly technicality but Musta Surma is anything but a new band.

I know, was just listing the slightly less known bands. Will edit first post accordingly.

Check out Nattfog, Hammer, Baptism and Torturium if you don't know them already.

I only own the Nattfog demo, and it is great. There is a new full-lenght out on Hammer of Hate if I am not mistaken.

Hammer has really catchy riffs, rac-induced BM.

All the Baptism stuff is great, and so is Torturium, but you must enjoy the more high-pitched vocals for this one. It has been a while I have not listen to this band though, but I know I really liked it.

I don't consider those bands being new though...

Ah yes, I know Baptism. Great project! Saw something here about Nattfog recently but never checked out any samples so will get on to that ASAP. Hammer's Shoax LP is pretty solid too.

Torturium I shall look into. Not heard of the band.

EDIT: This is bang on what I was looking for (Torturium) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgrSc7VhbMI

Cornigr's really caught my attention. 'Relics of Inner War' is fantastic.

Cornigr are incredible. That sample for the LP that was on this board a few weeks back I seriously enjoyed.

Sacrilegious Impalement's s/t EP is good. Not so keen on their LPs.

For me, the s/t has always been their best material. Forgot to mention this band on my post above Wink

Edit: + Perisynti, Phlegein, Orfvs, Archimage, Impious Havoc, Black Beast, Ugulishi, Saturnian Mist, Prevalent Resistance, Azazel, Azrael Rising, Anguished, Kadotus, Black Blood, Black Death Ritual, Black Stench, Cosmic Church, Evoked Curse, Exordium, Finnentum, Jumalhämärä, Neutron Hammer, Noenum, Vitsaus, Flame, Burial Sun, Armanenschaft... Just checking what I personally own Very Happy

Not exactly new, but I still dig the HAIL Inheritance of Evilness release. Slow to mid-paced evil BM, with a great Varathron cover. Cool 'story-telling' lyrics.

Rahu and Saturnian Mist are the "new" Finnish bands to check.

Still, not a new band, but often forgotten, check Inferi's debut. Along with Baptism, the best NH-band around.

The Verge demo was good, not so keen on the LP though...it's worth checking out the Finnish/German Alliance compilation LP on WTC that came out a while back, it's got some great bands on it.
