um....8 tracks?
kinda crappy/kinda cool format that was biggest in the 70s. kinda proto-cassettes. google 8 tracks and i'm sure you'll find more than you'd ever care to know about them.
my favorite part about 8 tracks is how they switch tracks mid-song. so shitty that you just gotta laugh.

i would imagine they woulda made it over there, but then again, y'all are ususally a lot smarter than us, so maybe not. ha!
it might also have something to do w/ your age. my parents had a player, my grandfather's huge lincoln continental had one in it, thriftstores over here used to be knee deep in them when i was in high school(early 90s), but i haven't really seem many since, so you might've just missed them. |

My father actually owned anything new in the hifi world which came out since he was born, so I would be surprised if he would have missed this, he. My wife (4 years older than me ) has never heard of it either....
I can only imagine we never had that over here.... |

8 tracks were the ancestors of casette tapes. My grandma used to have an 8-track/record player... I don't remember exactly how they were played, but I know there were 4 different "programs" on each album...
