Besides the first two Sabbath albums, what other heavy stuff was going on in 1970? I'm curious to see how big this list could be.

Grand Funk self titled. From 69 but pretty heavy... plus you gotta love a bass player wearing a polka dot blouse and floppy hat.

That ain't heavy!

One band that I heard today was Warpig. They had an album out in 1970, I think I might pick it up.

a handful of my favorites. not all in the strict Sabbath riff savagery department but all tasty 1970's fuzz worship...

Atomic Rooster - Death Walks Behind You
Christmas - Heritage
Edgar Broughton Band - Sing Brother Sing
Groundhogs - Thank Christ For The Bomb [good, but 1971's Split is the mega]
High Tide - S/T
Josefus - Dead Man
Randy Holden - Population II
Lucifer's Friend - S/T
May Blitz - S/T
Sir Lord Baltimore - Kingdom Come
Twink - Think Pink
Troyka - S/T

and Stooges - Funhouse for the motherfucking alpha. no hippies here.
