That's quite a dull reason, as even Deep Purple and Rainbow are featured on Metal Archives!

on the other hand they have voltz in it, which is way less metal than p. mantis imo . shit is more or less random depending on the mod reviewing the submission

Solid British hard rock with an American feel ala Journey etc... Hunt down their releases...even their weaker shit is still quite good.

It's also ridiculous that Napalm Death is on MA but not Fear of God. They include every fucking dark ambient side project there but no essential Grindcore? Come on...

Totally agree. There must be quite a growing list of bands that are not on Metal-Archives, I cant think of any of the top of my head at the moment but there has been quite a few unsuccesful searches on my behalf.

That site is fucked up. They have Mortiis, Wongraven, Lord Wind, Arcana, Puissance..... just to name a few, but they refuse to include a band like Led Zeppelin who are more Metal than the bands mentioned above.

Even fucking Mötley Crüe is in there, but no AC/DC, Guns'n'Roses? No Anal Cunt?

No to mention all these Nargaroth-style revisionism bands.

I guess it's to do with having a lot of Mods... and some has different taste than other. But some of those Bands thats not on there, should definitely be on there IMO. Laughing

The site is fucked up, yet you continue to use it.

I'll be the first to admit, I don't agree with every submission/non-addition, but it's definitely a valuable resource of information. To say "fuck Metal Archives" is pretty silly.

I don't see why there's complaints on bands on this site...they have a forum over there as well...

As for disagreements, I have a few of my own, but mainly towards the punk side of the archives, and bands like Rush, etc...but it's impossible to have an arbitrary site...some bands like AC/DC, Blue Oyster Cult, Blue Cheer, Led Zeppelin, etc might be considered more metal to some, and not metal to others, especially compared to some bands submitted which may not be seen as metal to some people. No one will ever be able to agree on this argument.

I do agree with the OP and praying mantis though. They are cited as major influence to many metal bands following the NWOBHM years, and are often included with the NWOBHM scene. If not for their heaviness, they are historically significant.

Just enjoy the resource as it is, it's not like there aren't extensive sites and literary sources covering 10 times more info than a metal archives page would on these bands anyway.
