Wonder if anyone here likes this band.

With their first album "Lichtbringer" they introduced a mix of Crust, Doom and some Death Metal with bizarre and sometimes almost senseless German lyrics. They followed this path with the following releases "Väterchen Frost" and "Fleischwald". Their fourth release "Reich in Rost" was their best output IMHO because they streched their concept. After that they made a cover album of German Punk-classics called "Auf dem Mond ein Feuer" which was quite ok.

Since then, the band made further records which became very redundant and lacked the freshness of their early days.

Here's one of their best songs from the debut:

Saw them live in 1998 I think ! Back then I didn´t like their music ! But the linked track sounds good ! I remember them being too modern sounding for my taste !

A friend of mine saw them 1996 with Atrocity, Heavenwood and In Flames (what a combination!). Nobody knew them at this point and the audience must have been pretty shocked about their intensity, as everyone was into Dark/Gothic Metal and Melodic Death Metal at this time.

Really? That's a complete different chapter for me. The early releases had an unique morbid feeling but I am far away to consider this band good. Their skills as musicians are very low and the lyrics became more and more silly. But at least they had an own style.

I only like the first 4 albums and the vocals are one of the best I've ever heard, so brutal. They hardly play outside of Germany I think.

A great band up to Reich In Rost indeed!
Fleischwald sounds like a stripped down and brutalized version of Grave here and there (on Das saure Kraut especially if I remember correctly).

Eisregen, on the other hand, is a laughable assemblage of talentless crap, ridiculous and utterly worthless in every respect.
You have to be mentally handicapped or be the retarded result of three generations of incest to enjoy Eisregen.

Excuse the rant. Wink

Yes, it seems that their fanbase is reduced because of their German lyrics. That's another reasen why I made this thread...

Not sure if that can be the only issue really, considering a lot of people seem to like that awful Rammstein stuff over here. (and they are only speaking da english)

Yes, but Totenmond weren't featured in a David Lynch movie.
