how do you send beers through the mail? i know people trade but thought it was illegal to mail booze so i haven't ventured into it yet. i'd love to do some trading since i live in a relatively shitty state for acquiring alot of beers, we don't even have Stone. doubt anyone wants anything in particular from here but i was mostly interested in doing this around the fall/winter seasonals but they're disappearing off the shelves now. _________________ good users |

I've always done beer trading via the mail. I've never have had anything seized but I know people who have. There are some good posts on the internet about how to go about sending beer through the mail in a safe manner. |

thanks. my friend had packages seized/ripped open that included food and beer and some were still delivered to him with things stolen from them, so have always been cautious of doing it. _________________ good users |

I go balls to the wall and ship USPS. UPS is too much of a hassle and FAR too expensive for this sort of practice. there may be some risks involved with USPS, but I would say they are minimal. as long as you are not mailing drugs that can be sniffed out, you should be pretty safe I'd say. utilize the priority mailer, package well (so bottles dont make glass to glass contact which might cause them to break) and they should not have reason to search your package. you might be more at risk if you tried to cheat the system using medial mail or something which would be silly in the first place... when they ask about the contents of the package just say fragile. I slipped up my first time not thinking and said yes to liquid contents which brought up further questioning (at which point I told them it was a hot sauce sampler pack from a known local company) worked out just fine in the end and all my beer trades went smooth... _________________ trade-want list/available list- http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20339 |

Beer traders also use "marinades," "marinade ingredients" or, if you're feeling lucky/cheeky, "live yeast samples." |

What the hell is a live yeast sample?
Some infected virgin sticks each bottle up her snatch? |
