The demo LP will get a limited pressing on red vinyl for the Nocturnus gig in San Francisco. It will contain the first demo cover like the pic LP I did for the fest. There will be a proper pressing with gatefold jacket and Zbigniew's killer painting but that's still waiting for Zbigniew's other pieces.

Some copies of the SF gig LP will be sent to Iron Bonehead and Record Boy to make it fair for those not attending the gig. Americans are encouraged to show support by traveling to the gig! Don't be a lazy American!

For those of you attending the gig, I just made a bundle deal (LP+Ticket) available through the webstore. These won't ship until the middle of Feb.

Pre-order for the Nocturnus “The Science of Horror” gig exclusive red vinyl LP with the original demo 1 cover artwork on the front and demo layout inspired back over, plus one SF gig ticket is now available from the NWN Webstore. We are pressing 250 copies of these LPs to support the San Francisco gig on March 13th 2015. There will be another “real” pressing of “The Science of Horror” with a new cover painting from Zbigniew (Watain cover, Mayhem cover, Vader cover, Deathroner cover, etc) in the near fuiture.

Your order will be processed and sent around mid to late Feb. Sorry the LP is not available by itself unless you attend this gig.

You can also buy just the ticket from here: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/1155137

Who is playing in Nocturnus these days? Are they touring or this a one off show?

It'll be up for sale by tomorrow.

You may want to wait to purchase because I'm doing a gig LP and I'll have it available for sale through the webstore as a ticket + LP bundle.

Cool. I like shows at the Elbo Room because if the need is there I can just stumble home.

PLEASE GET A GOOD SOUND PERSON!!
Sound at Sabbat and Revenge were both terrible!
I recommend Sonny Reinhardt, Barrett Clark, or Salvador Raya, all of whom have done good metal sound at the Elbo when I have been there.

I always go out with the ball and chain but i like the eye candy. Plus there's a Dragon that guards the stage.

I don't remember the sound at Revenge being too bad but for their set I was right up front so it just sounded like a crazy wall of distortion. When I see them at DNA this month I'm going to hang back and take in the show.

Revenge was done by John Corbett. He's a metal guy.

I thought the sound was decent from where I was standing

Cobbett is a metal guy, great guitarist, but he sucks at sound. Maybe he just sucks at extreme stuff like Revenge since he doesn't listen to it. Up front it sounded fine because all the sound was coming from the amps/drums. If you stood back by the bar all the sound was squashed and garbled. Pretty sure this was because the PA had the sound going through some extreme limiter setting, which was probably set that way earlier in the week by someone doing a DJ night playing dub or something. I talked to tons of people who thought the sound at Revenge was awful who watched from the back. I was back and forth a bit and the sound was pretty drastically different up front and about half way back where the sound was mostly coming from the PA. Was Cobbett doing sound at Sabbatt too? It had the same problem, but I have been to tons of other shows there that never had this problem. Matt at Elbo knows all the sound guys I just mentioned, just request he get one of them. I am sure whoever it is gets paid the same in the end. I know Sonny and Barrett both do sound at bigger places like DNA, Slims, assist at the Warfield n stuff....doing sound is their profession.

I'll second Sonny on sound for this... he definitely knows his Nocturnus and will make sure they sound good.
