Are those guitars custom built?

How's the gain settings on the digitech gsp? im probably going to replace my Marshall jmp-1 im looking for a possible replacement (not economical to invest in a tube amp in my country for there are no service people skilled enough and have parts to fix specific issues)

Blakhart guitars - black one is stock, wood finish is a custom via endorsement.

Digitech GSP 1101 has plenty of gain, poor mans axe-fx. Very versatile and has multi fx on board - easy to prgram using PC too.

Bwa... I rather play directly through an amplifier. Less crap on stage and often a better sound than running a stompbox or digital board.

Basic Pearl forum set. 4 rack toms and one floor tom + three roto toms. Anatolian cymbals + Zildjian A hi hat. The Anatolian chinas are probably the greatest chinas ever made. People should stop buying those cheap and shitty Wuhan chinas.

Digging this thread. Most gear websites are just people jerking off to pics of $5000 boutique tube combos. If they talk metal it's usually some super digital djent horseshit.

Wow, those Blackharts are awesome. Does the wood finish one not even have a volume knob?

No knobs - all controlled with feet - synth/patch changing etc.

Would love a simple head set-up but they dont do midi switching etc hence the rack.

Doesnt the JMP have a tube gain stage? If memory serves, it does. If so, before getting rid of it, try switching it out with a new tube...it probably hasnt ever been done yet.

Its just a preamp tube so you dont need to know anything technical like biasing or such. Its like changing a battery or a lightbulb. If the JMP is anything like the ADA MP1, the tube will have a noticable effect on your quality of distortion. Try JJs or Tung-Sol 12AX7/ECC83s. It will only end up costing like fifteen dollars

EDIT: Upon führer googling, I have confirmed that there is in fact a 12ax7 tube in the JMP. Here is a forum thread with a bunch of pictures of the internals, as well as schematics of mods that are really easy to do. That thread has actually inspired me to track one down for myself.

my current 16" Wuhan china is the coolest cymbal ive ever played or had - excelent sound if you play fast metal and can't have them ringing on forever

Kinda curious that you use those Axis pedals...from what i've head of OTOH/Mare your drumming style is more "hammering" than "lightspeed 3000 bpms" (personally i also prefer that first approach). I find Axis to be too soft and not having enough power. They are good for whoever wants to play hiperfast, honestly i prefer the good old Iron Cobra's or, even better, Pearl Eliminator's.

yes. the "Speed Cobra" is also great, which is lighter and smoother than the Iron's.
