So does anyone know how the get the cold guitar sound of Venom - Black Metal or Discharge - Hear Nothing? Or the sound that crust Misery had on all releases?
I'd say it's a standard Marshall tone with some chorus but I could be wrong.

Well, you're probably not, seeing that Marshall is the standard go-to amp for that kind of sound. Plus throw in a Tubescreamer.

Chorus was widely used in the 80s, and thrown in to add some extra thickness, often enough placed before an overdrive pedal.

Poison Idea also had the same tone circa Kings of Punk.

I'm looking to replace a broken G12T-75 in my JCM800 combo and found these on an online thrift shop:

Are they real Celestions? They don't have a print on the magnet. How much should I offer?

A Jackson DK2, the cheapest "real" RG Ibanez make and a metal zone. I'm constantly on the lookout for a 5150 but I guess people are hoarding the US ones now that they're made in China.

I agree Smile

With the white binding on the fretboard, covered pickups and other volume/toneknobs, it looks and feels just a bit classier than the "regular" explorer. Plays and sounds great, good thing I have 2 weeks off ahead of me Twisted Evil

These've been partially made in China for a long time. They just can't get away with labelling that "Made in the USA" anymore so they're now officially made in China.
